^Yes, lets disregard Neymar's last great performances. You gotta back down on Neymar bro. He has been doing great and been a real impact player.

I see only good performance, but not GREAT performance. Not enough to bring us titles. That doesn't mean that he won't deliver or explode any time in future, but so far he's not justifying his enormous price.
But that's just my opinion and I'm wrong on many occasions. ;)

I have not given anyone a free pass. And I want Messi to get back at being the best. Right now, he is after Ronaldo, and I say this as a Messi and Barca fan. He is scoring very few goals for his standard and he is losing the duel with Ronaldo. If he won't score goals, or at least shoot on target more often, we have a problem.

Why does this statistical battle matter so much? He is 5 times the player Ronaldo is, yet people only care about goals.

Matters, so that every Barca fan can deliver stats on the table when asked. For me, it doesn't matter that much. He's been responsible for almost every goal this season.

Cristiano has scored 9 goals in La Liga, but 3 came from fake PKs result of blatant dives and 2 came after the 90s minute with games already won. That's 5 out of the 9 goals that are CLEAR stat padding goals, 3 of which should not be there at all.

How about we hold the hyperbole a bit. Cristiano has not played as well as his goal tally suggests, and his goal tally is as deceiving as it gets.

Come on , no need to undermine what Ronaldo did , the guy is a goalscoring machine. Messi's goal against levante was also statpadding ? Are you going to say that every goal of those 91 made that not one of them was statpadding ? I dont like Ronaldo but you cant deny that he is a goalscoring machine. But when it comes to passing playmaking and almost all the other aspects of the game , messi is a clear winner.

I'm not undermining anything, just adding context. Notice I did not include goals scored in blowouts, only those scored in stoppage time.

But fine, you don't want to add those, ok. Take away those 3 fake PKs from blatant cheating, and Cristiano has 6 goals in La Liga and zero assists, to Messi's 3 goals and 4 assist. Doesn't scream one playing great and the other sucking.

Cristiano's goal tally should not be a measure of his playing form, because it is completely deceiving.

I completely agree with you now. Those penalties shouldn't have given to Real. As I said Ronaldo is the best finisher there is now but if you compare him with Messi regarding all the other aspects of football messi is a clear winner. But he really has to improve his off the ball movement.

i read in some bulgarian newspaper a doctor said messi has an illness which makes him feel very tired if his heartbeat goes over 150, this tiredness lasts about an hour then the body is OK again and leo can do sprints again.

Exactly!

It infuriates me how people say that Messi has been shit for 3 years now(apparently according to Los Blancos), yet just last season he scored 44 goals IIRC and had over 10+ assist. Yet they say that C.Ronaldo has been the best player when his goalscoring tally has been just as deceiving as Messi's goaltally last season, if not more because atleast Messi scored some decisive goals in big games.
