Nope, if the word for Ronaldo is "obsessed" or "desperate" to score then for Messi it should be one or two scales lower, he looooooves scoring of course, but it's definitely not a "drug" for him, otherwise he'd be super pissed to have to drop back so far and distribute passes to neymar & suarez.

You can not be "desperate" and "unselfish" at the same time, it's either one or the other.

There is a legitimate argument to say Messi is not the best penalty/fk taker in the squad but he still takes the vast majority of them and wants to.

For me Messi is almost obsessed with goals as Ronaldo, the difference is he fully respects the players around him and what they give up for him. Ronaldo doesnt.

Messi giving up a pen is not about not caring about goals it is him aknowledging what the likes of Neymar give to him and it is to repay that.

Scoring goals is like a drug for Messi, he needs it but wont fuck over others to do it.

I never see Messi chasing goals as much as Ronaldo does when they are 4-0 up. Ronaldo is actually sad/frustrated when he didnt score yet eventhough they are winning.
I think he likes scoring as much as any forward but Ronaldo's obsession with it is on a different level.

Exactly, desperate is Ronaldo's sad face after RM won 5-0 against Betis without him scoring, that's desperate, and sad, and pathetic :D

I love Messis obsession with goals while being a team player though it is what sets him apart from Ronaldo on that aspect.

Do you think Messi would be happy to give up pens, FKs or even his role as the player attack is built around to get in scoring positions? I dont think he would.

Guys something just hit me, do you guys think Messi could score twice as much as he does if that was his main goal evey game, to score much as possible?

It's actually quite scary to think how many goals he would score if he tried as hard as CR to score:tata:

You could say he's lying, but I believe him.

If there's a pen in the game, will he still be the first taker or do you think Neymar will take it since it's Messi's first game back?

You're welcome

I think he will let Neymar take it. I think for this season he might try to help make Neymar topscorer.

I believe him as well he loves Barca scoring in any way if he is involved or not even.

Do you think he is the best penalty/fk taker in the team though?

Not pk taker, no. I think Suarez is better. And fk he should always give to Neymar or suarez, if it's a right footed one.

Why doesnt he then?

Or why wont coaches tell him to?

Because he wants the goals and I have no problem with that.

I'm not sure that's it. There's been an official pk for a long time, before Messi. I think it's done to avoid problems.
And if it were so, Messi would never give a pk to teammates. And that's not new, he gave them even to Ibra.
