Wait...what?

So you genuinely believe that Eto'o was ever streets ahead of Suarez? For the love of Christ, Suarez almost single-handedly gave the EPL title to Liverpool last season (even though he missed something like 6 or 8 games in the beginning) while he has massively improved our team since finding his feet this season. My point was not to isolate Man City and PSG, but to stress the point that some of Suarez's goals this season were of colossal importance. I am trying to think of an occasion when Eto'o scored two goals in big CL away games (in his several years with us) and I really can't find any examples. Eto's biggest ever goals with us were his goals in the finals of Paris and Rome. But Suarez has shifted into top gear straight away and we cannot ignore that.

As a barca CF etoo has been better. Outside barca i only recall two world class top 10 material seasons from suarez. Is that enough to make him better than etoo who was world class for a while and holds played a crucial role in so many team teophies?

Cristiano is a 2nd fiddle all time great, along players like Thomas Muller who are only remembered for the amount of goals they scored.
Imo ronaldinho is a step above, yes after he won everything he decided to party the rest of his career away but the height he reached is jaw dropping.

Thomas Muller :amazed:?

Eto'o was also getting old by 10/11, yet still scored a grand total of 37 goals when played as a CF for Inter.

Just for the record, Eto'o never ever actually played as a CF for Inter Milan: in 2009/2010, he played on the right, and his purpose was to feed balls to Milito (the CF); in 2010/2011 he played as a second striker on the left, and his game was to dribble past opponents, converge at the center and bam, score goals, but the CFs still were Milito and Pazzini. During the 2010/2011 season at Inter Eto'o played exactly in the same position of Neymar this season with us, and that's when he scored 37 goals; furthermore, he was also the main offensive playmaker of that Inter team, since he finished the season not only with said 37 goals, but also with a nice amount of 15 assists.

Being said that, in the last games Neymar got back to a very good form (bar few missed goals), which is excellent.

Etoo>suarez

Given the choice of peak Etoo or this Suarez I would take this Suarez.

Just think he is a bigger team player and can do more individual actions to win a game.

Etoo was a great player though and will probably go down as bigger legend at Barca.

Etoo a better goalscorer, suarez has more skills

Looking at the two players' best seasons.

Suarez in 09/10 with Ajax scored 49 goals in 48 appearances. And in 13/14, he scored 31 goals in 37 appearances.

Eto'o, on the other hand, scored 34 goals in 48 appearances in 05/06. In 08/09 he scored 36 goals in 52 apperances. And with Inter in 10/11, he scored 37 goals in 53 appearances.

Ronaldinho at his prime was lot better than cr7 but the problem is he didn't stay there for long. Sad that it went down like that. If he played with same consistency as messi and cr7 i would definitely prefer him over any player in the history including messi.

Had Ronnie kept his level up when social media took off he would far be among top 3 with Messi and CR7. The world would have marveled at the bro partnership he had with Messi

Ajax cant be considered, weaker league IMO
