11 - Raphinha

Raphinha is a frequent dribbler, does quite well for the amount he attempts also considering success rate also been much higher in his first season under Bielsa. Convenient to just look at the current year where team has been much poorer as a unit and two key players knew they're checking out after season is over

He doesn't spam cross. Has 9 successful crosses (a lofted pass, rather than a drilled side pass) into the box in both 21/22 and 20/21 and plays ~2.78 per game (compared with over 6 for Dembele).
Had the most progressive passes per 90 of any starting forward (ergo players with over 2500 minutes played) in the league
He's also very high in switches

Dont think he'd be asked to spam cross by Xavi either though that might change considering there's now going to be a proper forward up there.
Through ball arguably not most important for Barca from wide area either, more so just need a reliable pacey player who wont be a scrub on the ball and wont be out half the time or have mood swings

Deco waived an agency fee (a seven-figure sum), something he was reluctant to do had the transfer involved Chelsea or any club other than Barca. A penalty clause was inserted into the contract, committing Barca to forfeiting an additional ?10 million if they failed to meet a fixed payment date, and an agreement in principle was struck.

% itself means nothing as gotta factor in the amount of dribbles he attempts, otherwise you'll be comparing Raphinha with 140 dribbles to Kovacic with 60
He's was 3rd in league for attempted dribbles and worst of the three as consistently asked to do too much, just like Newcastle and Watford players ahead of him
When consider the company of the top25 most frequent dribblers, he's done very well for a relegation team player

No key passes arent only a side pass and even if is it'll include those which should have ended in a goal but Leeds dont have a reliable striker
And he was a winger in a Bielsa system. Won't play long balls

I don't know if the 35% success rate is true, but if it is, then his dribbling was poor last season cause the likes of Adama even with over 200 dribbles made, still achieve over 60% success rate, The same can be said for Allan Saint Maxim, Sane, Dembele, prime Hazard, Neymar etc At the very least he should have a success rate of 48%

Just he isn't really that good dribbler. 1,8 successful dribble per game 2021/22 and 1,9 per game 2020/21. As a frequent dribbler, you would expect he complete like 2.5 dribbles per game. One leg Neymar can do that with his eyes closed, for example (2,6 dribbles per game last season). Or even Vini who loses the ball often, also completes 2,7 dribbles per game with 45% success rate.

Overall i don't think he can cause much trouble with his dribbling skill.

Bit of an Alexis dribbler? Looks good in the HL, but in a possession game against a deep block, may lack the intricacies.

Not worried. Teams don't park the bus against Barca anymore for a good while already.

Not the Frankfurters (which we could be great against now if we transition well), but LaLiga certainly.

And especially with the offensive hype of Lewa, Raphi and of course... Dembele.

We'll see. I bet Raphinha would eat the normal fullbacks in La Liga alive.

Was fine. Raw stat on its own doesn't awfully matter considering how much is being asked to do.
Can always do better and has done much better in his first year in Leeds.

True can be like one legged Neymar or Vini both of which is just a compliment considering has done it in his first season in England.

RM struggle to stop this type of player and always have. Only Mendy does anywhere near well enough 1 on 1 and one of main reasons why RM lost 0-4 even if didn't care at all for result in that game

I didn't watch a whole lot so I'm relying on a lot of you guys on better impressions and stuff.

Seems like he could very well be a good addition going by the comments.
