2. Fuck around trying/not trying to sign a good LW but get rejected
3. Have no other LW option as plan B
4. Sign a player no big club had an idea of approaching but Barca where kind of wanting for years
5. Get said player, who is an AMC/10, after a good NT tournament and his price is the highest(inflated)
6. Probably play that player as LW

This is what im fearing.
Barcelona will announce it as a big star player and hype it up to Mbappe level.
7 Would be Olmo underperforming in said position and getting benched more and more and not getting any playtime where he plays the best.
8 Not wanting to leave getting us another squatter.

yep less is more - save that money and try to get a real LW,striker or DM next season

I fear Olmo is going to be another mistake from our board. Laporta needs to fight his urge to try to present a hype player under any circumstances. The club is in absolutely no position to waste money, especially after Roque.

-Olmo is injury prone
-We have 5 OM players already with starting ambitions
-We need to prioritize a LW, DM, RB
-Olmo's stats in Leipzig aren't that great to go all-out for him.

These are more than enough reasons not to spend nearly your entire summer budget on him.

Personally dont think Olmo will be a mistake even if not profile needed above all else.

Will be.. fitness permitting.. Barcas best 10/AM and LW.

Him playing AM frees up Gundos time.. as he looked dead by end of season and allows more minutes for Pedri/Gavi to play deeper if at AM and LW he is much more of a threat if left in space than likes of Felix.

In a years time it opens it up to let Gundo go and even sell one of Pedri/Lopez from that AM area if Olmo is judged the better of the three and a LW brought in.

Alternatively also allows them to sell likes of FDJ/Gavi if that is best move at the time and move Pedri deeper.. if they think physically he can cope week in week out there.

Say that knowing full well club wont sell certain players even if right move but it remains an option.

They will wait for Nico and hope he doesnt renew..which is a gamble but better than forcing in a lesser player now.

Probably Fati gets another chance and he did link up very well with Balde in past but clearly injuries a worry.

Someone like Ayoze Perez for 4m would be maybe decent to help cover Lewa and the LW position to bulk up numbers in that area.

It is a fairly standard situation really when a player has a clause.

Buying club will try to find a way to pay fee in installments even if means more overall.. if the seller has leverage and can point to clause they will.

They know Barca cant miss on both Olmo and Nico and will pay the 60m or get better deal than offered. While if reports are true others will pay that for him.

Too much will be made of it being Barca skint and trying to lowball really as always.

I can see both teams points of view year, standard practice to spread payments out, the only iffy thing is the first payment not until January.

Basic stuff really, can also under RB wanting it all up front, that's just a way to keep him, because no club is paying them 60m all cash.

Exactly.. it really makes little difference to them if Barca pay 60m in 5 installments or all at once as will they have plenty cash and on books will be the same regardless.

They will hold out for the 60m in full as dont want him to go and it increases likelyhood of actually getting more than 60m.

From Barcas side it would be idiotic to go straight in with 60m in full even if that what it eventually could take. They have to try every avenue for best deal even if their position and RBs make is very unlikely to be accepted.

Not registering Araujo until then makes sense as it frees up some of his salary to this seasons FFP.

Really he is registered and no issues with that but that can choose to 'dereigster' him for a while due to injury and release a certain % of his salary for FFP.

The issue is they then have to cover this salary released back in next seasons books but still makes sense to do it.

Wont be a massive amount anyway barely a few million.

I have high hopes for Bernal but don't see either he or Casado being solutions next season for important games.

That's what I think almost every single Barca fan wants/would do.

But they see things differently, I wonder if Flick is just a yes man or he genuinely thinks we have the players in the squad to fill that role, due to us playing a double pivot.

I'm sure If Xavi stayed that would be the first position we filled.
