4 - Ronald Araújo

I would let a club submit a 100m bid and ship him out with a damn parade. Then go right to Bournemouth and purchase Huijsen.

Huijsen/Cubarsi would be exactly what Barca us looking for.

6 lines of not replying to the point.

AGAIN: both Militao and Saliba were handed FIRST CONTRACTS at the first top clubs they went (Madrid and Arsenal) WAY lower than Kounde. 7.5m gross and 2.4m gross

You picked the examples.
Try another one if you want.

Let's pull up all the names of CBs that get their FIRST CONTRACT at a top club at the age of 21-25 and let's see how much they get.
I bet you won't find even 1 that gets close to Kounde's money.
You can sign a first contract and then renew it after a year or two, which is practiced at Chelsea for example. Why the hell are you repeating this? Salib's contract ends in 2026, so does Konde's. They will be renewed in the same year.

The net wage is higher for Salib - the rest is lyrical. I as an employee am not interested in how much the company spends on me in aggregate, I care about how much I get paid out. If in the market a specialist like me gets N amount of net salary, I will demand not less than this N amount, no matter what country this company is located in.

They didnt sign Christensen to be a sub.. they always had Kounde at RB in mind also.

Kounde/Araujo is too poor on ball as a pair particularly when one has to play LCB.
Lies.

In the market, Kunde was known throughout the footaball world for his excellent play on the ball. You can re-read the old analytical reports. His excellent passing skills for example provided us with two goals in the clasico - see the first goal and the third.
Your comparison of Kounde and Araujo in terms of quality of passing is sheer ignorance.

He has never been considered as a RB by anyone. He was seen as a second defender in a system with 2 central defenders and as a right CENTRAL defender in a system with 3 central defenders.

You can revisit the Barcelona documentary when Xavi was coach, he demands the purchase of Kounde from the athletic department saying - that with fast defenders like Kounde and Araujo we can play with a very high line.

Still evading...

AGAIN (for a 3rd time): comparison can ONLY be made on the FIRST CONTRACT each one got when they got the big transfer to the TOP club.
What does this comparison tell us?
Yes, you know very well, so don't play dumb here

What happens after that is irrelevant and fairly predictable: if X player performs well, he will get rewarded with a pay rise 2-3 years after his first contract.

PS: Again: try to come up with more examples if you wish.
You won't find ANY defender at the age of 20-25 that got MORE money than Kounde when jumping to a top club
Fatporta still fucks up our wage bill, and its time for people to start admitting it

No.. he is not a top CB on the ball and was always bought with thought he can play CB and RB.

I know exactly the documentary you are referring to and what Xavi said.

Kounde is not a top CB on the ball or anywhere close.

As said his passing is hit or miss.. some top ones and near enough every game big error on the ball in bad positions.

What you say would make sense if Kounde's contract was shorter than Saliba's. But they have contracts until 2026. They will both renew their contracts around the same period.
Their salaries will also remain equal after renewal.

And don't forget that Kounde was in a different status at the time of the transition than Saliba or Militao, who was barely 19 years old.

An absolute lie that is easily disproved by going back to the notes analysts of reputable publications wrote about Kounde when he played at Sevilla and Bordeaux.

No you are lying.. read back on here on where it was discussed he would play and how it was reported that Xavi seen him as potential CB and RB.

Was always going to be RB with players signed. Clear as day.

Show me Xavi's words where he says he sees him as a RB first and foremost. He had some disagreements with Xavi because he started using him on the wing, he didn't like it at all.

And I'm sure if Xavi had told him then that he would be a RB he would never have moved to Barcelona. He didn't like it. It's only now that he's more or less accepted the role.

I never said he claimed he was a 'RB first and foremost' I said Xavi clearly seen him as a player that can cover RB and CB and with the players signed that is where he was going to end up.

This was all discussed that summer.

He viewed it primarily as a CB. What you say can be said about almost any player - buying the current Valverde you buy him as a central midfielder, but if needed he can play as a wing midfielder, right back etc.

He viewed him as able to play both primarily as a CB or not thats not what happend in end with Xavis signings.

It was specifically reported and discussed at time that Xavi seen him at both CB and RB and where he would end up playing considering make up of squad.

What teams were looking for in players and CBs that could play full back was starting to change then.

The information that Kunde initially knew he was going to play RB is inconsistent with him expressing displeasure at having to play the RB position. His displeasure suggests that he expected to play center defensive end.

Kounde had played games for France at RB and a few for Sevilla. After signing for Barca and playing RB for a few games that is the position he became a France regular... for both club and country.

As said.. what clubs were looking for and flexible players that could play CB/RB had started to change.

France seen him as a RB option as did Xavi.

That is completely different from just choosing any random player that has played outwith their 'main' position at some point.

The reality is Xavi thought both Araujo/Kounde could be options at CB/RB and found out very quickly Araujo on ball was not good enough.

I dont doubt Xavi sold him on playing CB primarily. would have been ridiculous not to let him hear what wants to when doing all can to sign him.

Who do you think Xavi planned to play RB?
