32M is way too much for a CB. We need to set or sights on getting a RB and CM before we look at buying a backup CB.

Always thought he is overrated but haven't followed him for a couple of years. Has he developed much? also agree that 32m is too much for a CB like him.

Linking us with Basque players already, so expected. Sport "journalism" has to be one of the easiest jobs in the world.

He's gotten better since the last time we were linked with him. but I see him as a Bartra level talent or a least near it. For his price you're much better off spending it on Sanchez who's younger and has a lot more potential.

So now we are focusing on more tunnel vision transfers again? Valverde's old favorites and no long term strategy or broad vision at all?

If both Mathieu and Mascherano leave, this could be a very important signing. We would need experience for a role/position on the team that is hard to find in the market, especially the Spanish. Martinez fits the style of play. Him as LCB backup, Marlon the RCB. Davinson Sanchez also a good option, but he's also young like Marlon. Situation could become unreliable at the back if injuries start to occur or if we want to try a 3-man defense. From what I've heard, Martinez has played nicely under a Barca-style of play under Eusebio, which is a good sign.

Didn't realize he was left footed. I was reading the Bilbao forums, and they were hoping we buy Inigo, so that maybe if he doesn't work out they could buy him. Since we all know Real Sociedad will not sell any players to them.

He's Bartra level, if not a little worse. Bartra was always better.

Would rather just get Sanchez. Although I'd rather get Sanchez than anyone.

Iñigo over Bartra everyday of the week. Just because he plays for a smaller club doesn't mean he's worse than Bartra.
