This game Pedri is actually like how young Iniesta used to be. Can make amazing dribbles, lose the ball quite a lot. Iniesta made more shots though.

And Xavi should play him as CAM now, that's position Pedri wanted from long ago.

Hopefully people realize just how bad he is soon. Physically he is just as bad as busquets and although he has some great moves every once in a while he is consistently bad consistently loses balls is outran out muscled. He would never play in any other serious team. Barcelona has deluded themselves with his hype.

Pedri had the most ball recoveries (10) in today's match playing out of position.

He also had the most dribbles (2), 2 tackles, created 2 chances and completed 5/5 long balls.

He was instrumental in the only goal with a silky run as well.

He looks out of breath in second halves. The run for the goal was golden. But then proceeds to keep the ball too long for no reason.

Yeah, looked out of breath in the second half. But that could be said for many players on both teams. It was a very hard pressing match, both sides knowing it's one of the key games of the season.

The dribble inside Atletico box for the assist was a real beaut.

What I liked the most was that he did it just after failing two similar incisive dribbles. Last year he would have done the "sensible" thing to avoid losing the ball three times in a row. But then we wouldn't have scored.

On the other hand, if he doesn't improve physically, he'll be a worse Isco. Not that special.
