Bayern and Real next. Will see whether or not he can raise for big occasion like Don Andres.
A bit early to compare him to Iniesta. Pedri is 21 years old. Iniesta in the same age played in Spain's U-21 and had mostly short subs around the last 30 minutes in barca.

He's always been an amazingly gifted player. A brilliant talent.

His only issue is injuries. Other than that, the sky is the limit.

Nobody in this club understands that being captain isn't just being the longest serving player in the club, idiots. That's why we end up with captain like Roberto, Alba or even fucking Pena and MATS.

Pena wearing captain sleeve would be something else. Thanks, Pedri. Guy knows what is right.

Would have been a hell of a political intervention by that assistant. Talk about intentionally trying to stir the pot and influence dynamics with the Tek arrival.

Gavi was the most senior outfield player though, he was the 2nd captain so not a big deal.

It is a team vote.
After those who are voted, it is seniority.

Which is pretty standard in football, no team keep ranking the entire squad for the arm band, after few names it is made by seniority as an easy solution.

Ironically, I don't know any club who has 5 players ranked for the Captain arm band. It is actually weird.

Even when Iniesta was at current Pedri's ages, he always shone in big games, big moments. Check his UCL performances in 2006 vs Milan, Arsenal... or his El Clasico.

It's been clear that he needs positional freedom and he has the positional sense and technical ability to affect all areas of the pitch.

Happy to see him flourishing so far. Hope he keeps it up.

That might be true but he scored 0 goals and only had 4 assists in 34 games in 2005/2006 season and produced 6 goals and 4 assists in 37 games in the 2006/2007 so pretty far from impressive those early years

You can't measure Iniesta's greatness by goals or direct assists. Look at this performance vs Arsenal in 2006 UCL final when the team was losing

Henry told Sky Sports: 'I saw him up close playing with him, but he also changed the game when he came on and played us in 2006, he destroyed us and won that final for them (Barcelona).

'He has been doing that for a long time and you saw in the second half he was one of the few players at that moment where Barcelona were struggling that wanted that ball.
