no.

I'm talking abut the way they're responding.

their language is troubling. the way they're all reacting to this is troubling.

they come across as a nation of racists. "we call black people negritos all the time! they don't mind! honest!"

they're dismissing the idea that a black man not from their culture could be insulted by being called negrito, which is ignorant as fuck.

and ignorance is not an excuse.

I don't even think Suarez was ignorant. I doubt that when he and Coates met LeBron earlier this year, they greeted him with "what's up negrito?" - I doubt that he calls Glen Johnson "negrito" in training - I doubt that when Forlan was at United he used to call Rio, Brown and co. "negritos" or anything like that. I think he knew exactly what he was saying and knew that it'd wind Evra up no end.

Suarez isn't a racist, I'm fairly confident in saying that, but he racially abused Evra. and for that he must be punished.

Gus Poyet is pathetic and so is the rest of those twits who cannot see that Suarez insulted Evra on the basis of his skin color to wind him up. Pathetic.

and Poyet via the Guardian is spreading misinformation about Evra having cried racism before!

PATHETIC!!!

I don't know if its true that Evra called Suarez a sudaca(I doubt that he knows what it means), but if its true than he should be given the same ban. For the south americans, "sudaca" is just as bad as "negrito" is for the black people so I don't understand why this is even discused.

Also, from Thiago's twitter:

@Thi_Alcantara91
Los 4 negritos en Tokyo ayer antes de cenar!! El mítico Mazinho, el gran Zizinho y el pendejo de @jona2santos...

We can see from Thiago's statement, that "negrito" doesn't have the same meaning for the spaniards as it does for the english speaking people. That's why I believe that Suarez didn't realized at that moment just how bad where his words..for me, the one who dissapointed me the most is Liverpool FC with their t-shirts and that awful statement from their site. They should have just accepted the verdict and move on, but they choose to play the victim card when their player is only a victim of his words.

Exactly, even if Suarez meant to provoke (which I would expect out of him), it's unlikely he knew the severity of his actions. This doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a punishment and Liverpool is reacting hysterically, but all the people calling him a "racist scum" are missing the issue and it reeks of opportunism.

hahahaha like Evra would even know the term sudaca

I believe Evra admitted to saying a Spanish word for South Americans. And if he did, there's as much chance of him knowing Sudaca and what it means as there is that Suarez is knowledgeable about racial relations in Northern Europe and under what context "negrito" can be interpreted.

oh and you happen to have a transcript of Evra admitting to such a thing from the Independent tribunal?

When has Evra ever claimed racism in the past? Gus Poyet is spreading horsepoo via the papers.

show me the quotes of Evra claiming racism at chelsea, please....someone! It is unbelievable how fast misinformation spreads on the internets and becomes fact only because it is so widely repeated. PATHETIC!

CARLOS TEVEZ(WHO WAS PITCHSIDE AT STAMFORD BRIDGE POSTMATCH) ON CHELSEA INCIDENT: “Patrice received a grave insult from a member of Chelsea’s staff,” Carlos Tevez said last night. “He demanded an explanation and from that moment these men just wanted to attack Patrice. Obviously it’s normal that we tried to defend our team-mate but within a few seconds all of the United players were surrounded by stewards.

“I think that the security cameras will show the provocation we received. I have never seen anything like this in my career . . . if the FA opens an investigation, we will cooperate and happily give our version of what happened.”

GERRARD PIQUE (WHO WAS WITH EVRA ON THE PITCH AT STAMFORD BRIDGE POSTMATCH) ON CHELSEA INCIDENT: "Basically, this came about because of the provocation of somebody who works for Chelsea.

"Patrice wanted an explanation but these men were very aggressive. All we were doing was finishing our work-out after the game.

"Even now, I just do not understand the reaction of these people. I have seen the photos and, if the images are stored in the CCTV cameras then it will be impossible for them to say that the players were not provoked."

We haven't said anything about Evra playing the race card... I know there was a mention of it a few months ago, but that's all

But you know exactly what Suarez said and what his intentions were.

Why do I even bother.

I asked you first!

what about Suarez admitting to Uruguayan newspapers that he called him something that his teammates call him. I believe it was YOU that said it was Negrito!

what do you think his intentions were? friendly ones? give it a rest.

why do I even bother

Yes, this is what was probably said.

Everything after that, from the way Suarez said it, to anything else said by either party, is pure speculation. But of course you come in here with your hyperbole and kill any discussion so you can get attention, just as you do in the Villa thread and used to do in the Busquets thread. Your agenda is obvious, you want attention.

I tried to respond to you, but you have no interest in discussing the matter, only in dismissing everyone else so you can rant further. I'm done, enjoy being the first person on my ignore list.

and you don't want attention posting RACIST all the time no eh?

You don't have to be there on the pitch to know that whatever Suarez was saying to Evra was not in a friendly jovial endearing context. you are just clutching at straws now by saying that we can't tell. the two of them were having a fight, whatever Suarez said to Evra was clearly done to wind him up and insult. don't be so naive please.

what else would like to talk about and for me to address? your proof that the FA is RACIST against Uruguayans? could you please post your LONG and VOLUMINOUS case history of such instances as your proof?................or are you just crying out for attention?

and  at me being on your block list. you cant stand holes being blown in your argument.

According to Suarez, Evra called him a derogatory word for a South American, to which Suarez replied angrily (as seen on the video) "negrito", but instead of using it in a derogatory manner (which it can be used as), he used it in the more common, endearing manner.

So, either his rather suspect story is true, or... he simply answered one racial slur with another, meaning Evra should be investigated also, and the punishment was justified.

The idea that he supposedly answered what he believed to be a racial slur with a term of endearment is laughable to be honest, especially when you watch the video. It's so obvious what has happened that LFC are only digging a bigger hole for themselves with this blind support for him. They should accept the verdict and call for Evra to be investigated as well.

I don't blame Liverpool for appealing but it should be more about damage control (questioning the proof to try and lower the ban) than this victim complex nonsense, as well as to call on an investigation against Evra.
