Him having a terrible season and not doing well = Bad for the team.

Again, I understand why people don't want him, but I dont get this 'wont support him even if he comes' thing. Each to their own though.....

I'm with you on everything you said and I wont support him even if he would play in Barca colours. This club is going down hill because of management. We still haven't sorted out our defence problems yet we go of our way and buy an expensive unneeded striker. I've been saying this for a while now but can't see Messi staying while this management is in charge. Next summer he will depart after a terrible season.

Facepalm. He won't leave after one season. He's probably going to be a success here. Also the defence is being worked on but that's separate from buying a forward. The reason we don't have a cb is because all the ones we want are not for sale.

You're acting like not buying Suarez equals defender. If the defenders we are after are not for sale they are not for sale end of. We are now looking elsewhere.

I will fully support him if he comes to our team. However, I will always keep a reminder in the back of my head that he's a mercenary. In other words, I won't be surprised if he gets banned again or decides to leave after one bad season.

You're not excited about this?

Not in the slightest. Great player but he is a ticking timebomb and a ball hogger.

Would rather see us sign a centre back instead of yet another overpriced attacker but it seems like the board hides their lack of football knowledge by making big-name transfers and thus keeping the masses happy. Culactico style.
Of course if we do sign him, which it looks like, I hope he does great. Unlike other people.

ANy CB will be available for the right price. So instead of throwing money on a striker that we don't need, let's spend "whatever it takes" on CB.

Just my thoughts exactly. With regards to signing a defender, had we moved with the same enthusiasm and resources to sign a defender like we're doing now with saurez, we would have had a quality player in that position easily by now.

Who says we can't get Suarez and cb or two? Bertus calculated it and there is plenty of money. It's just a messed up situation because the ones we want dint want to leave or are not for sale.

People will bash Suarez and blame him for not being able to secure a cb when they are two separate things.

King Leo: So you'd pay over the odds for an average cb ?(that's all that's available to us). To me that's worse than spending a fair price for a forward. I think it's possible to fix up the defence but we must look harder and not just spend 60m on a player that's not worth it. Just because he is a defender.

If he was a mercenary he surely would have chosen the mercenaries club R€al Madrid. It is rumoured he will have a paycut compared to what he had at LFC.

It is still 5th of July and up until the last days of August the transfer window will remain open so even this board has got plenty of time to strenghten our shaky defense with a few good defenders.

Everybody knows all too well this manouver should have been done years ago but if they are to make it there with the god damn degenders it still remains a lot of time till the transfer window ends and with the prospect of the transfer ban ahead I'm sure they'll finally sign one or two freaking defenders. This though shouldn't by any means stand in the way of signing better attackers too.

I can't get it why so many falks around here don't want to accept Barca's attack ALSO needs solid reinforcements as all our compartments needed before we first started bringing fresh blood.

It looks like we're obsessed with Marquinhos. I wonder how long they'll waste their time on him before they start looking at other options. Of course they might be looking at other options already, but I'd like to have a couple of CBs with the team in pre-season so they have some time to adapt with the rest of the group and not wait till the end of the window and after the season have started.

.

Dude, we've been trying to sign a defender for ages. I don't blame cules for being anxious and pissed that we've not given that a priority. Last season was the same thing and we didn't do shit.

I have a very difficult time understanding this. I've watched a few PSG games last season and not a single time have I said, "WOW this CB is amazing, buy him!".

It's a strange fetish and it's a bit weird to be honest. There are a lot of quality CB's out there, even some really good low profile ones in the Brazilian League and Argentine League.

I think they'll sign Mathieu or Fazio now and then chase Marcos till the end.

I still have no idea why we are so obsessed with Marquinhos and aren't even looking at Benatia. He'd cost around the same as Marquinhos + we don't have to negotiate with PSG to get him.
