Yeah, he had a good period there, but nothing more. He is not indispensable for them. Not even an asset.

No club is loaning their top player, or one of the top players, in the middle of the season. Only exceptions are when payment is delayed though a hefty mandatory buy fee at the end of the season.

Not hyping Adama in the slightest. Nothing to hype about a 6month loan that could end up either way, unlikely to even cost money (buy option not obligatory AFAIK) and player probably hit ceiling so unless plays well over expectations nobody will be forcing the issue and wasting money pot. Barca not in position to make mad moves. But guess some can't understand the utility of mid-tier transfers like this when you can't sign a great striker as too poor and have to settle with Ferran as CF temporarily

Nor are players you list fitting the Adama bill in any way.
Nor did Adama flop at Wolves. Flops dont get offers from a bigger club for a position they dont fit.

in this instance its more the case that Barca are making a stupid decision, so the 'offer from a big club' bit is misleading. its not like Bayern, Liverpool, Real or Chelsea--competently managed clubs, or at least much more competently administered than we are--are the ones making the offer

Adama literally had one outstanding game/moment, when he helped beat City a couple of years ago. that is it. his stats this season are laughable


so he is failing upwards

Being serious for a second. Can only be happy that a former LaMasia player gets to come back and stake a full chance to show what he has got. Was always a favourite of mine in his B days. I'm sure he is shocked and delighted at this move and will be extra motivated to prove himself.

What's stupid about filling a hole in attack for 6 months where you have to secure CL or lose shitton of money, with a player that is a dribbler (of which you have none), is fast (which nobody at Barca bar top form Fati/Dembele/Alba are) without committing to pay for it?

nothing, actually. but we shouldnt mistake ourselves and call this anything other than a temporary experiment. we are not signing some superstar or anything like that--as malvolio puts it, we are signing a player wolver-fucking-hampton wants to offload.

so sure: we'll take players that can add depth to the squad, since we are in dire straits. but that is about it
