You can talk about Song and Mascherano as much as you want. The main culprits for the goals were Alves (not closing down Trochowski at all, just ballwatching, at fault for a couple of goals already this season, Real Sociedad, Spartak etc.) and Busquets (simply giving the ball away so cheaply, did that against Osasuna too and we got away with it, clearly underperforming in La Liga so far). Don't think it's a coincidence that we managed a clean sheet against Valencia when Busquets didn't play and Alves only played 1 half. Alves is on ridiculous wages and there are rumours that this might be his last season for the club if he keeps underperforming as he did in the second half of last season and so far this season. In other words: his best days look behind him rather than ahead of him, PSG are officially interested and Alves just recently said that he doesn't plan to retire at Barcelona. Under these circumstances I don't know how long we'll keep Montoya on the bench anymore. Surely not for another 2 - 3 seasons.

I really don't get why we keep buying midfielders ( macherano, song ) and then playing them as CB... instead of buying pure CB's. If we bought 2 good pure CB's instead of masch and song we wouldn't have problems in defence atm.

well we all say that,anyway we could need a backup for busquets but center back now is the main problem for us and tito didnt just gave a fuck pff he just bought song and he thinks that he can cover also center back and play as good as pure center back,bullshit the solution is one and simple buy center backs

So after all, he will play against RM as CB... It will be interesting to say the least, I'm sure he will be on his toes trying to do his best as he's aware this is a pretty big game... As long as he can get ahead of Cristina and buy some time for the backups to arrive he'll be fine, also he could be more careful going forward... And hopefully Dani gives him more help this time around...

Gawd, this guy has a lot more contributions to make as a midfielder not defender. Why do we always find ourselves in this position? Happened alot with Busquets last year.

Anyhow, Song will be fine. He is physically strong but a little slow in acceleration although quick enough once he gains speed. Like someone said, he should stay alert and be on his toes at all times against RM.

well for a change he will provide a physical presence against RM. I agree he is not as ideal as Puyol or Pique, but to quite as bad people are making him out to be.

He was really good covering for Busquets. If he was to play dm, and give Busquets a break, he'd be perfect. This thing of converting dms to cbs is what is wrong, imho. A cb needed to be bought as well. It's not his fault, in the end. I just can't conceive a team as big as Barça doing that. after having so many problems with cbs the past 2 seasons, this insisting in not getting a decent cover is weird.

To me this is even worse, because Chygro was at least playing as a CB before coming. Song was not even a particularly defensive midfielder at Arsenal. It's like using Iniesta as CB.

I don't think using a 6 feet 1 Cameroonian box to box midfielder with a lot of physical presence at CB is anything like using Iniesta at CB, but that's just me...

It's the same in the sense that, while quite good when playing in their places, they wouldn't make sense as CB. Cameroonian or not.
