What a sad world we live in
Usually I'd give a player two seasons, but we have too many "midfielders" that aren't actually midfielders and out of all of them, I'd only keep Rafinha. Unsure about Denis, but definitely sell Arda and Gomes too.
Modric was voted the worst signing of 2012-2013 in LaLiga alongside Song, I'll just throw this here. Gomes is horrendous now that's right, but he needs more time
Not one of the players he mentioned in his list of examples of players who "Struggled to adapt" were ever as bad as Gomes is now, though, and that's with me intentionally ignoring Sergi Roberto as the mere thought of a born La Masia midfielder struggling to adapt at Barcelona causes Cruyff to roll over in his grave. Like really, Alba struggled to adapt? And Neymar? And Suarez? If this guy really thinks any of those players were this terrible this late into their first seasons I'd have to wonder if he's even been watching all these years. And finger pointing is rarely a good excuse for a consistently bad performer. So what if Busquets or Rakitic or Iniesta have been poor this season, Gomes has been worse, and every single one of our midfielders has more standout performances to their name than the 0 Gomes has.
He's shit at the moment, but I would still give him another season. Even economically it makes sense selling Arda this summer to recover some cash, Gomes can't get any worse - no?
You never know. But Gomes doesn't fit. They should do like they did it with Ibra, and sell him. Arda too. Both need to go, and better players brought in. I'd also sell Paco and get Munir back.
Mendes would surely find him a team, if the new coach says he won't count on him. It's about being proactive for once.We sold Ibra for same price Milan sold him 2 year later, not only that but it was originally a loan with an option to buy. We were desperate to get rid of him and that forced us to make an absymal deal.Gomes isn't a player with such huge ego who would do trouble and earning a huge wage while being 29 like Ibra was at 2010.
If Mendes can get us a team that want to pay 25M+ for him and we are able to cut our loss then do it,if a new coach like him and think he will find a way to fit him and we don't have offers for him then we will have to keep him most probably
Mendes would surely find him a team, if the new coach says he won't count on him. It's about being proactive for once.
But Mendes will pocket the money himself. We'll end up with scraps as always.
He's going to take a commission either way as he's Andre's agent.
