Iniesta was shocking in the away leg against Atletico, he was the best player on the park against them in the home leg for his performance in second half. But he really was awful away to Atletico in the CL as he was in all the games bar that home CL tie.
He was not by any means "shocking". There was a limit to how good he could've done given how badly the team did, and he was our best player by relative comparison (or among them).
Just because he can't always shred a league winning, CL finalist defensive system to pieces doesn't mean he was "poor in big games". None of our midfielders or attackers had an easy time breaking them down.
Overall he was amazing or at least above the average team performance in: 2 games vs. City in CL, 2 games vs Madrid in league, 2 games vs Atletico in CL
Games in which he underperformed relative to teammates: CDR final (barely below team average), 2nd League match vs. Atletico, 2nd leg of Supercopa
Ok/non-notable performances: 1st leg Supercopa, 1st league match vs Atletico
That's a total of 6 good, 3 bad, and 2 inconclusive. Hell if you discount Supercopa given its lack of importance, that's only 2 bad big games. Yet predictably you'll say otherwise due to your agenda for opposing any general opinion and it'll drag on forever.
OK didn't know you were talking about CL return leg. Even for that game, I would put Neymar and Alba in front of Iniesta.
I could see the logic there as they both put in a lot of effort for that match. Still, Iniesta did well in terms of dribbling and did try to create things. Matter of opinion there.
