It's not just ATM not winning anything. More that ATM was NOT EVEN CLOSE to winning anything at all in 2019.

Not hugely against signing him but Barca needs to fuck off with trash like Suarez, Busi and EV.

Don't think it matters that much that Atleti didn't win.

What matters much more is they are at the end of a cycle. Lucas Hernandez has already left. Filipe Luis s at the end of the road. Godin, his trusted friend, is leaving the ship. I really think that has more impact on Griezmann and that is the reason why he wants to leave.

Don’t see it a bad move, he is a WC player. We have no proved players except players who will never move like Mbappe, Neymar, Salah and Hazard is going to RM.
I don’t mind getting him for 100-120m and I even have no problem to get Neymar back as this will solve lot of our problems.
But still the main point is to get a coach, it is useless to keep signing super stars and continue with EV.
We really wasted years with Messi with low level coaches starting from Tata Martino till EV, we did not have a coach since Pep left

According to Cadena Ser, Atletico believes Griezmann has an agreement with Barcelona and Atletico will hold meetings this week with Griezmann to know the truth if He's going to leave or Stay with Atletico.

that is a decent concern, barca needs a striker that makes runs behind or can be a target man type of player.

my hope was that because griezmann has good link play he would actually have a good first touch/layoffs/passes and wouldn't lose the ball like suarez constantly does, so the fact he is a second striker helps in that aspect. he also has the pace to get behind when making a run and ability to actually score his chances. for it to work it would need a good chemistry between him and messi and for him to make runs behind the defence, but maybe that is wishful thinking from me.

why on earth would we be interested in a proven choker when thats precisely what we need less of?? god, i can already see it: a 100m+ signing that will do shit all but add to our wages and participate in a CL knockout collapse

It isn't just about link up plays. Suarez awareness for example is amazing. He can play with his back to the goal which can't be said about Griezmann, that makes life way easier for Messi.
Griezmann usually have someone in front of him, Mpabbe,Morata,Giroud,Costa, Torres etc. He will be in a very new position, in new style in new team at the age of 28.
I've no doubts he will score plenty of goals, he will make it look like worth it initially, but when it matters most it will be exposed. Just like Ibra except there won't be clash of egoes
Factor age and price and I hate it.

And I understand I want Felix who is similar player, but he is right footed who is 12 years younger than Messi with potential to learn new tricks and position, good resale value etc. And even then I don't deny it is huge concern

Correct.

He is better at playing behind a strker as opposed to leading the line himself.

He's good but i hope we buy a proper cf instead.
