Not really comparable, is it? Most people thought Coutinho was a one-for-one replacement for Iniesta. Didnt work out for some pretty glaring issues in hindsight - he wasnt bought as a winger (otherwise Dembele would have made zero sense). With Griezmann there are some very viable, more tangible, concerns. Is he clashing, position wise, with Messi? Is he wasted on the wing or lost as a more classic centre forward?
I agree with the "choking" part though. Thats just a lazy argument.

The more and more smoke that comes with these rumors the more and more I’m against this transfer.
We need an actual Suarez replacement not a player who occupies the same positions as Messi.
So we’re going to take a massive loss on Coutinho to try and play this guy at LW? Sounds like a disaster and a Coutinho 2.0 situation.

I also prefer a real 9 who can score goals like Jovic than a player with the profile of Griezmann.
He was actually a LW at Sociedad. It was Simeone who moved him to the middle to be more involved.
But I agree we shouldn't sign him.

If Coutinho is not suitable to play LW for Barca than Griezmann for sure isn't either. If they intend to play him as no.9 I can get that because there is a lack of no.9 profile players in the world right now. On the other hand if they want to play him as a winger than some people in our scouting team and management board are fucking crazy.

Well if they sign a 120M star player to bench Dembele just so Suarez can keep his spot until he's 40 then there are more problems than just the scouting team
Coutinho and Dembele were never intended to share a position so i think Griezmann also wouldn't be seen mostly as LW. I'd say the reasoning behind Griezmann for Coutinho would be that Griezmann is an actual striker that can provide goals (only Messi and in the league Suarez do that right now) and in theory should be able to play for either Messi, Suarez or next to both. So he could ideally be used to replace/phase out Suarez while also covering what Coutinho was doing most season = playing when Dembele is injured. At least that's how it could work out in theory, not fully convinced myself though.
But then again we will probably keep Valverde so yeah scrap the idea of benching Suarez and look forward to Griezmann-Suarez-Messi-Busquets-Rakitic (average age over 30 btw) starting 90% of games

So let's get rid of Coutinho who wanted to come here and bring an idiot who made a fool of Barto and the rest of the board last summer. Nice logic! Can't understand this shit but let's try to rationalize this.
IMHO there are many problems with Coutinho sale and Griezmann possible arrival.
Regarding Cou:
1. Why the fuck did we buy Coutinho if we wanted to play him as LW? It's clear he is not a winger!
2. If we intended to play him as midfielder and even Roberto Fernandez said he was brought as Iniesta replacement than why the fuck didn't he get the chance to play there?
3. If Retardo was against his arrival than why the hell did we spent 140 mil on him? And if he wanted him and now wants to get rid of him after one bad season than we have one more reason WE SHOULD FIRE HIS FUCKING ASS for ruining 140 mil investment of the club.
4. Buying 140 mil player and selling him after 18 months is not just bad business it's a clear sign this board doesn't have a fucking clue how a big club should be handled.
Regarding Griezmann:
1. He is a moron who mocked all ATM and Barca supporters with that awful movie last summer. Even if everything else was perfect regarding him I still wouldn't buy him just because of that. He clearly showed he is a low IQ idiot.
2. He plays basically the same position as Messi so if we intend to buy him than IMHO he can only play as a no.9 and no one is sure if he can do that but let's hope he can. One thing is certain he is not a winger since he doesn't have a pace or speed for that.
3. If Retardo intends to play him alongside Messi and Suarez than this will be a horror show even worse than this years because we absolutely need someone with speed and that's Dembele.
4. We are either truly brave or stupid to pay 120 mil for 28y player after we have paid 140 mil for a player we desperately want to get rid of while there are certain similarities between them.
5. He played much worse this season than he did season before and that could possibly be a sign of decline.
With all of that said there is only one conclusion. Our board is either stupid or doesn't know shit about football.

I think that's already too late.. Hope he fits well when they actually sign him but I also have big question marks and for that amount of money.
