Antoine Griezmann

He would be giving up the difference after tax though not 500/600K.

If he was on 800K a week and they pay him 300K a week he is down 250K a week in reality.

Maybe he then sees that as being made up in part once his 3 years at Barca has expired.

Agree if Barca are paying large part of salary for him to play at Atletico it is a farce.

It's still a lot of money he would be giving up regardless if it's after-tax. I honestly believe we'll still be paying for a portion of his salary. Just doesn't make sense for Griezmann to give up a lot of his salary so easily. I don't think he's that happy to be moved on like this.

I just don't like the idea of us giving up one of our main goal scorers for just a midfielder who hasn't played all that well for Atletico in the past 2 seasons. It's making us weaker and making them stronger.

Awful deal if true.

I get that we need to get Griezmann's wages off the books, but this is an awful deal. We're making Atletico stronger by giving them one of our main scorers, and we're taking a player that's been inconsistent in the last 2 seasons. We don't need midfielders, we need defenders or another striker. I also bet that we'll still be paying some of Griezmann's salary because I doubt he's going to reduce his salary from 800k a week to 200k to 300k at Atletico so easily.

We do need midfielders.

Our midfielders are: Pedri, FDJ, Busi, Puig, Moriba.

Pjanic will most likely leave or not play much at all under Koeman and Nico Gonzalez will most likely be in the B Team.

I would like an experienced midfielder but I haven't seen much of Saul so can't comment on his potential contribution to the Barca team.

Wtf is this shit?

We overpay for him and then trade him BACK for a player who is worth a lot less?

Is Saul even good anymore?

I would rather keep Griezmann.

In straight player swap it makes Barca weaker and Griezmann will be Atleticos best player probably but the club is in position where have to make these type of deals for future.

Need to hope other players step up and personally think they will.

If Atletico get stronger so be it. Barca need to do what is best for the club.

IMO, Griezmann and Depay kind of coincided for the same spot. Once we got Depay, Griezmann going is not a bad idea. I lost hope with him ever becoming a great scorer for us. So if he's gonna score every couple of games, have a good work rate, and provide some good link-up play, all in a non-extraordinary matter, Depay can pick that role up with no problems.

What is it with that report that the club will only save 12 mil gross per year. Either Griezmanns salary isn't as big as reported, or we will give another huge salary to Saul. Sound like a pathetic deal, just for saving 12 mil.

We started the summer talking of a Joao Felix swap. End with a Saul swap. If Atletico wait another month we might accept Santiago Arias.

We're probably giving Saul around 200k a week. I still think we're going to pay a portion of Griezmann's salary for the next 3 years.
