Agree 100%. Today's football generation is very, very bad.

Progression into the application of data, analytica and tactica era. Freedom of expression minimized and football being more mechanical.

It is the progression into football being a results based industry. Other sports are similar. Look at Tennis where the top players now lack flair and expression but rather play like drones.

I guess what I am getting at is that the talent level is now possibly higher, just the majority are being groomed for the same mechanical way of player.

Italys best players were probably Donnaruma and Chiesa, Pedri was Spains best player, Sterling/Shaw probably Englands best players.

Maehle and Damsgaard for Denmark were probably their best players.

Young players and not a tournament dominated by 'Busquets and Chiellini'.

Usual suspects speaking same shite.

Saul-Griezmann is a trainwreck of a deal, but I would take it anyway.

Yep. I have really bad feeling.

Saul and Messi is still better than Griezmann BUT Saul could become new Turan/Pjanic/Umtiti if he doesn't make a comeback.

Pray the lord. It's a massive gamble with very little upside for the long term.

I'd hope it is a case of being mentality checked out of Simeone ball and not mentality checked out of football like Arda.

If we go back and look at Koke a few years ago. He had a similar spell of being off form and below his previous level.

De Paul is someone who can invigorate Simeone midfield while Saul can add to ours. That would be the idea.

This deal would make absolutely no sense at all if it's just a straight swap. They get a guy who can score you 15 to 20 goals a season and we get a midfielder who hasn't played that well for a while.... not to mention, he's not that big of a scorer. We literally lose one of our main scorers just to save some money on the wage bill. Don't get me wrong, Griezmann isn't that good, but I would rather have him than Saul.

Watch it be a loan deal and we'll still pay for half of Griezmann's salary.

Well if they go with such a deal that would pretty much mean we had no other choice. Flop or not i'm sure they would rather avoid making Atletico stronger.

There are only a handful of clubs who could afford Griezmann, and honestly i wouldn't even be surprised if Atletico is the only one being seriously interested.

I mean who else should even go for him? We might just be forced into this, or be stuck with him. In any other season that would just mean spending some more money, but in this summer keeping him could mean not being able to register Messi and the new signings.
