If you really wanted to talk about plastic fans leaving the Barca train, mentioning PSG would make way more sense than Bayern. But I guess it could be seen as a dig at Messi's fans so you skipped.

No secret some here like the way Bayern plays though. That's true.

Lol

I wasn't talking about plastic fans that stop supporting the club because x player is no longer with us.

Was mentioning the so called fans that want us to be like other teams in terms of play style because they think that's the way to go forward and more in line with the current successful teams.

I don't want Barcelona to lose their play style because some bum Chelsea team won the CL playing some shitty football.

Just like you twerked for Ronaldo coming here just because we needed a guy who scores goals.

Yeah, and if we don't we'll live and move on.

We'll live and move on even if Barca's relegated. Guess that's not wanted either.

Barca missing out on CL would mean no CL money and players refusing to come even if we had funds to afford them.

Man Utd also received less money from their shirt sponsors when they missed out since they had clauses pertaining to being in the Champions League. I don't know if that's standard everywhere, but could very well be.

Barca missing out on CL would also mean the board likely having to resign so any type of planned rebuild is instantly destroyed. Might also put off some managers.

Could become an institutional mess yet again.

Antoine Griezmann is set to re-join Atletico Madrid from Barcelona in a €10 million loan deal with an option to buy of around €40m. Atl?tico have made Griezmann aware that they intend to make the move permanent next summer. Might be that a mandatory buy option is automatically taken into the accounting and a optional one is not?

Maybe you have to have 40M as colateral in the bank, when you make that obligatory buy loan

That's just not true. If you miss out on 1 year, it doesn't mean that this is a continuous thing or that it defines the project in the following years also. It's a bad hiccup that you get over with. Plenty of top sides failed to make CL at some point. Italy failed to play at the World Cup in Russia. Won this Euro.

I remember a hilarious Zenit - Bayern 4-0 in Uefa Cup back in 2008 or so. In 2010 Bayern made CL final. Not to mention Chelsea, Liverpool playing more EL football than CL for nearly a decade. Not even that at times.

Most of the gloryhunters haven't known a Barca that wasn't a top 10 side in the world since 2006.

In the grand scheme of things, these kind of down periods are PRECISELY NORMAL.

Wouldn't be the worst thing seeing how Laporta has started his "rebuild".

A club that's already in deep shit financially cannot afford to lose out on even more money, a lot of money by missing out on the Champions League.

A club that have been destroyed due to institutional chaos cannot yet again fall into the same shit as a motion of no confidence would almost certainly succeed against the current board in this case forcing new elections and more uncertainty.

You have to take everything into account. We simply cannot afford to miss out on the CL, no matter what.

Different times. Not comparable to the late 90s and early 2000s and all that.

But if you don't make CL, it means that the squad isn't being paid much. So you don't have the same huge expenditure. You'll take less, but pay less as well. New La Masia core is going to be paid very little compared to inflated has beens like Pjanic or the other washed-up dinosaurs we parade around.
