Arda Turan

Was he known for poor discipline at Atleti? This thread is a great example of how insanely OTT and personal this forum gets during off-season but even so, yeah bad start with us could be explained (months without competitive playing, new system) and I toned down my own criticism for the time being, then came the Euro and he dragged himself across the pitch like the Chilean Vidal's donkey, now the lack of form and work ethics continues and it's nearly August .. None of this can be passed as merely a bump on the road. He got an earful from the staff, we know that, and Arda still won't pick up the slack? That's dirty.

Yes he was known for his poor attitude at Atleti, like the comment he made about Simeone making him run too much.

He's a very talented player no doubt, but his attitude and work ethic are utter shit.

It's already too late for him, the signing of Suarez and Gomes have effectively buried Turan's Barca career.

"Looked uninterested in training" - I swear this might be the best quote in this entire thread, and there's plenty to choose from.

That's kind of a big give away to why he doesn't care for running so much - for Atleti, us or Turkey...

I'm not saying he didn't train. He looked a bit off. His touch was still class. It was his face... maybe I'm reading too much into it, that's why I said maybe it's just me. I usually don't comment on this stuff, but he really did look disinterested.

I'll post the video here, give me your toughts.

Thanx for the link. He did look down at first but then I saw jim smiling.

Barcelona seeking sale of Arsenal target Arda Turan Ashish Thakur
26 July, 2016

Barcelona are hopeful of selling €30 million-rated Turkish midfielder Arda Turan this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Turan joined the Catalan club last summer for a reported fee of £24 million but had to wait until the turn of the year to make his club debut due to Barcelona’s transfer ban.

The 29-year-old made nine league starts, scoring two goals and providing assists for another three goals in the final half of last campaign.

Barcelona have been quite busy in the transfer window, having already confirmed four arrivals this summer including the latest signing of Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes for €50 million.

But the Spanish champions are seeking Turan’s departure after just one campaign since his move from Atletico Madrid to root out his high salary and recover a large portion of his transfer fee with a host of European clubs interested to sign the Turkish skipper.

Turan was reportedly offered to Chelsea last month but Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan and Turkish outfit Besiktas are all thought to be targeting the versatile attacking midfielder this summer.

Barcelona, who reportedly want around €30 million for the former Galatasaray star, have come to terms that Turan’s departure is the best solution for all the parties despite his agent revealing last month that the player wants to stay at Camp Nou.

“The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumors saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club,” Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut said.

it is still plenty of time for him to be bought by some of these roumoured clubs so if the interest is real I'm sure the club will eventually let him go.

Lets hope he stays and shows why we chose not to sell him :)

It is not up to us. He is refusing to leave. Barcelona have shown by our signings he is not wanted. He wants to live out his retirement at Barcelona and there is nothing we can do to stop him.

On here you are probably in the majority. If you were in catalunya, probably you would be in the minority.

I really doubt that. I'll wager that at least three quarters of this forum would let him go, if we got a remotely reasonable offer.

Let's give Arda a chance to prove his worth. I have no doubt he loves us and wants to stay, let's see what he does this season and then decide.
