MacAllister needs to step up, he's been invisible for me. Team needs to move the ball faster.

- Otamendi for Balerdi
- Lo Celso for Alvarez
- Later on, Castellanos for Lautaro

Watched about 60 mins of it, just couldn't get Messi on the ball in good positions. Plus he doesn't exactly move around much to get in to a position to receive the ball. No Di Maria means there's no other forward to share the creative load, and there's no one else the opposition is getting turned inside out by. Need to have just one of Lautrao and Alvarez imo and have a creative troublemaker on the other side of the pitch. Teams can just tightly mark Messi out of a game.

Besides having Otamendi in the starting XI, the main problem imo is that Scaloni didn't sub in the right type of player who can make the biggest impact.

Garnacho is great against a team with space, but against a deep block he's mid. Lo Celso and/or Paz made the most sense in this context and it confuses me why Scaloni didn't pick them. His in-game management still needs a lot of work.

Lineup that I would have chosen in the second half (since Romero is injured, would still keep Balerdi)

Tagliafico---Medina----Balerdi----Molina

As i said earlier Di Maria carried this team, Wati is back :pique:

Im excited to see this team now without Angel but im sure a guy like Scaloni will find a way 🤔🤔

About Messi and Argentina:

I can completely understand Mara's opinion that Messi should retire from nt football to end it on high level, many ppl think like that.
But if i would be Messi i would definitely try it again, i dont remember a team has defended the WC title in modern era so he and his team mates could become the first team ever. Also this team looks to good to get humilated by a team, maybe they could lose in qf or semifinal but shouldnt you try it? Spain lost 1-5 against Netherlands in Wc14 but i see nobody who speak about that, ppl rather remember their total domination between 08-12. So from me Messi gets a 'GO' !

+ Messi doesnt need to start every game. He can also be a super-sub. Who doesnt want a Messi on the bench??
