No one is saying Rudiger or some of these prospects like Christensen are Maldini and Nesta.

It's relative to the absolute clownshow we have at the CB position - Penalty merchant Lenglet, Eric "soyboy" Garcia, Bumtiti, and a geriatric Pique.

Rudiger is one of the best in the world though. Top 5 easily. The only problem is I would've loved for us to get him (if we do) at 25, not 29.

I mean Rudiger is asking for 500k a week

sooo its legitaimte question of elite world class talent if ur gonna pay him that much

Rudiger is playing great in a back 3. When he played in a back 4 under Lampard, he was considered a bum, nobody here would have taken him even on a free then.

He will be a gamble for any club, either he really improved under Tuchel, and is now great in a back 4 also, or he returns to his pre Tuchel form, when he was worse than Lenglet.

The same applies to Christensen also. Would take them only on a small wage.

Rudiger will flop anywhere if they play 4 at the back. Christensen is more suited for 4 at the back and is cheaper.

Have you actually seen him play ?

First and foremost he is a great defender ... at ALL costs .

He is extremely mobile and fast , absolutely massive , nasty piece of work .. as bad as Pepe .

Just what we need imho

A CB has a lot more freedom and room to excercise his aggressiveness in a back 3. Need a lot more discipline as an aggressive CB in a regular back line. One of the reasons why Mingueza looks solid as a RCB 3ATB but trash as a CB in a pairing.
