Zubimendi born and bred in San Sebastian and been a RS fan since he got interested in football. Not sure how they were stunned about him rejecting us. Especially considering they probably made contact with his agent a while ago and likely were told straight up he wasn't leaving.

IMO if Gundogan comes they should look at some of the high profile younger CDMs available that won't cost an arm and a leg. If Gundogan isn't available someone like Brozovic might make more sense as we need some experience in the midfield at CM or CDM.

Because very few players say no to Barcelona & Madrid, I think they genuinely thought they could convince him to come and now they're trying to not over spend on anyone else, who would be barely a back up option.

It Zubi said yes, once they get rid of the last bit of dead would, they would immediately spend the 60m it takes to bring him in.

All the weak areas identified last summer in our squad, address over two windows, which was always gonna be the case, even though half the forum kept repeating the line.

"We sold TV rights & didn't get a RB & DM and we won't have the resources to address those areas this window" or something along those lines.

Was too obvious that this is exactly what was gonna happen, use your resources smartly.

The club just needs to make up its mind on a DM, because Xavi's favourites has no interest in leaving his club, let's settle on the back up option, so we can move on to a RB
