Yeah... But someone needs to explain that to Barto, Abidal and other people from the top...
I dont get it... Spend 35m on a player that will play for like 15 games and most probobly not gonna fit...

We have signed big names and they have flopped. In today's market 35 million is nothing. Also posters here always criticizing te board for buying expensive flops like Coutinho, Griezmann and Dembele.
First off the price is not bad, secondly Setien knows and trusts the player.

Also Jose is a good striker. He is a decent finisher, good in build up play and in the air. He's physical and will give opponents something to think about and free up Messi. Out of the four he is the best option.

If this is true it probably means our big money signing in summer will be Neymar. Suarez will be a starter for another season but at least WJ would be a pretty good backup (we didn't have a proven backup #9 since Larsson). This would also allow us to go all out for Haaland in 2021. Not really a bad plan if that's what we want to do though I'd still prefer us staying away from Neymar.

What can go wrong with relying on a 33 year old striker with chronic knee problems that just went through a major knee surgery.
If that's what happens then I can say without a doubt that Eric Abidal is the worst Sporting Director under this board.
Willian Jose is not a bad player, but he exemplifies inconsistency.

WJ was a starter in most games and is still Sociedad's top scorer this season. He has also scored 46 goals in last 3,5 years for Sociedad which is far from bad.

Who realistically is going to give up one of their good players without being able to sign a replacement??
A backup should have been bought during the winter transfer window after it was known Suarez was out for the season. They sat on their hands and now will either have to overpay or sign no one.
2 of our 3 100+ million signings are not even playing for us.
The club would be extremely lucky to get 50 million for Coutinho and who knows Dembele’s worth.
I would probably keep Dembele and hope he can somehow stay healthy—which is what? Like a <5% chance.
The Arab Neymar money was cursed. Fucker should have never left in the first place.
