30 players; we have a lot to do. I do not think it is wise to get an unnecessary additional player.

I think we should take the L this season and not sign anyone. Instead, let us start planning for next season!

What can go wrong with relying on a 33 year old striker with chronic knee problems that just went through a major knee surgery.

If that's what happens then I can say without a doubt that Eric Abidal is the worst Sporting Director under this board.

Willian Jose is not a bad player, but he exemplifies inconsistency.

Even an inconsistent WJ as a (backup) striker is better than have no (backup) striker at all.

I'm not saying Suarez as a starter next season is ideal. Far from that, I'm all for shipping him off to MLS but I don't think it's likely and who would you buy as his replacement assuming Haaland is not available this summer anyway? I like Lautaro but I'm affraid he'll turn into another one of our failed 100m+ signings. So maybe it's time we change a tune a bit and do something different.

Furthermore, we need a winger to replace Dembele so the profile of player we're supposedly signing in Willian Jose is all wrong. Abidal really is a clueless tool.

I think it's pretty evident we miss a striker much more than Dembele. We've been playing without Dembouz for like forever now anyway. But maybe you'll get your wish and we'll sign Lucas Perez who can also play as a winger.

BTW, I still don't totally believe these rumours. TVE is not really reliable and both clubs have already denied there is an agreement about WJ. Obviously they could negotiate but I think it's still far from a given WJ is really our choosen one.

The way forward post Messi is emulating Madrid’s style. Buy young highly rated prospects and hope they pan out. If they don’t, at least they have some sell on value and are not on massive contracts.

Buying 100 million+ players is such a massive investment for the club when you consider the fat contracts that accompany the fee. This in turn handcuffs Barca because there are no other clubs who can afford the player when he flops here.

He already spoke about it, now after injury I dont think he will not go after season.
If we sign striker then he will go, if not then he will stay.

Lautaro is massive gamble, he got one decent season.
I would go for Werner he is proved atleast in Leipzig, and he is a lot of cheaper.

Just splashing massive cash on a player is no guarantee. There is no guarantee that Lautaro will be a good fit here. Inter have a different style of play. The player has to be a good fit for the manager's style.

I doubt Setien will be here next season. It's not his fault because he has literally nothing to work with. However a new manager may have a different style and Lautaro might not be the one.

The biggest change we need in in cb. We need at least one quality cb and preferably two. If the CBS are quality and can withstand pressure the confidence will flow to other parts of the team too. I'd like a left back too because Alba is finished as a starter. Give Semedo one more season.

It's not just post-Messi either. Rakitic, Suarez, Busquets, Alba and Pique all over 30 and coming to the end over the next couple of years. All these players are over the hill already with too many miles on the clock. It's only Messi who still produces.

That doesn't leave much. Maybe Ter Stegen and De Jong as Barca's future. Coutinho and Dembele are already dead weight. Griezman joins the over 30s club next season but was never a good fit anyway. There's nobody else at the club good enough to start for Barcelona unless some of the youngsters really push on quickly.

None of those over 30s have any transfer value left, even Messi can leave for nothing every summer now. I've been saying for years we should be succession planning properly and starting to move these players on while they had any value. Instead we just keep them and keep them until they drop and then we have to replace (what was) a world class player which costs a fortune but not just one but 7 or 8.

Neymar himself would be mad to come back because we're looking a period in the doldrums, or certainly in transition for the rest of his peak years (even more so than how Messi's have been wasted). He's not getting a CL at Barca in the next few years which means no ballon d'or, unless he wins the next World Cup for Brazil. If PSG wins the CL and he's the star man he probably would get ballon d'or.

Perez is the king. He has learned so much over the years, not bringing overhyped players and very rarely overpays.

We lack two CB's. Why not bring this guy for just 12m?
