Real Madrid's wage structure is actually very good. They got the business aspect in order in Madrid.

Yea its easy to get into a bad spiral.
As it is in Barcelona, one player gets a huge wage, then the other one wants the same amount, then the first player wants even more to be at top.
Then even the new star players we sign wants a huge wage becouse they heard that the other players gets it in Barcelona.
Messi, Neymar and Suarez earns stupid amount of money in wages and it will only get worse.
Neymar is already up there and hes only 24, imagine his contract negotiations.

Though a counter argument can be made with their age ,Saul is almost 8 years younger than Arda .so he will have time to adapt

Saul has played lots of games in the position Arda played for Atletico (and performed much better than Arda did there IMO). If Arda cant play centrally like Iniesta, Rafinha, Rakitic and lots of other attacking mids can, and cant play out wide because he is slow as a turtle, then he is really no more use than Douglas for us. 40m down the drain. But to be honest, he was not that great in Atletico either. Just another piece in the Simeone system, easily replaceable. Many players look better in his system than they are, to the credit of Simeone.

On top of that it looks like we're gonna keep signing 29, 30 year old players for high fees.

The board, Robert and Lucho need to think about that and inject some young blood in the squad too, or else their stints are not gonna look as rosy a few years down the road if we struggle with an aging squad hampering our progress.

I dread to think what kind of team we'll have by the time the new stadium is finished. A 35 year old Messi carrying it if he's not sold to raise funds.

We'll never learn in the transfer market and we'll be waiting in vain for the next La Masia golden generation to soften our ineptness at transfers, but Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol etc don't grow on trees.

We won't be able to compete with the Premier League either and they'll buy up the best young talents (Martial, Renata) while we sign overpriced crap from the likes of Arsenal.

We aren't struggling with money .we are just spending it on the wages of one of the best squads that has ever been on the history of the game .a treble winning squad who might retain domestic title
Having such line up costs a lot .and it doesn't leave us with a lot to pay in the transfer market .even when we are one of the richest clubs in the world

But we haven't got a squad, we haven't even got enough good players to fill a bench.

We're skint because we waste too much money on transfers and wages for sub-standard players and rarely make much back on sales. We should be closer to Real Madrid for income as well.

Thing with Saul is he's an option everywhere. He played half as much at CM at Rayo as he did at CB. They keep saying his future is where Gabi plays, but I don't really see that. He's the perfect left-footed-on the-right-side to Koke being the opposite. You'd have to assess what you want out of Barca's midfield, but if in another 2/3/4 seasons we want a direct replacement for Rakitic, he could be a good option, if wants to come at all. I wouldn't get him now, though.

It has nothing to do with the goal vs Bayern. But its not happening anyway. And the prices you mention are more like half of what is needed anyway. I agree with you, we dont have the money to any of it.

I am confused ,are we the next Bayern or the next Galactico ala RM?
and btw getting Saul 1st option was duo to a proper scouting .everyone was mad it was him not Oliver
And Braida isn't to blame for anything ,he isn't the sporting director to decide who we sign
