The only one that can really do that in our squad nowadays after Xavi left us, is Messi.
We have shitloads of Attacking Midfield Iniesta type players, but no Central Midfielders.
I want to find a really high quality ball distributor.
Noone will get up to Xavi standard, but someone of the same mold.

TBH since Messi has been forced to drop down the field to create the last 1,5 years, we could just aswell put him on a free midfield position next to Iniesta/raki and get another RW to play alongside Neymar and Suarez.

Why should we even be interested in a player like Kante? A pure destroyer like him surely has no place in a team like Barca...

I am not a fan of an interest in Kante,that said he isn't just a destroyer.he is very capable on both ends.gr8 player who can fit in any system IMHO.

At the end is Gabriel who will decide. IF he says to Palmeiras he wants to leave and that he only wants to join Barça (or City or United) then they'd probably have to accept our offer that will be a couple of millions lower (at least fixed amount and with more variables) than others. If he doesn't have a prefered club then his club can take the best offer.

That said, I don't know much about this kid but for me he's just Sport's flavor of the week. I don't think we'll buy him. Yes, he could be a great talent but will need at least a season or two to adapt so it's a question how much he'd really help the team in that time. I really think we should get someone who can perform right away as backup for MSN and I don't believe Lucho would really trust some 19 yo kid to do that. Only way I could see us buy him is if the club think Neymar will leave next summer and Gabriel can be his longterm replacement. But I doubt that as we'll go for a bigger name in case Ney leaves. Some people are saying he can play all positions in our attack but as [MENTION=2]Bojan[/MENTION] said I also doubt he can play Messi or Suarez's role, so he'd most likely only be Neymar's backup.

He trusted Munir & Sandro 2 seasons in a row for that role,why won't he would trust a more talented one for the role?
I prefer Gamiero as MSN back up along D.Suarez .but Jesus is a huge talent tbf and can very well be a back up for Suarez while Denis taking both wings.
My main concern is our ability to develop him behind MSN. I said b4 that I think passing on Dybala was the right decision because we would have destroyed his career playing behind such dominant trio.can't imagine Jesus developing behind them either.
If he is a buy & loan it could make more sense

Having a player like kante would give the likes of iniesta more freedom and also compensate for Messi's lack of defensive contribution. But it might be a good thing, if you have the two most creative players in the world why burden them with defensive work where you can get another player that is a specialist in that area and does enough running for 2 people every game he plays.

Like I said it could work, but we would have to change our system and I don't think lucho wants that. That's why kante has been linked with every other big team apart from us.

Kante wouldn't work here.

He's a pure Destroyer and not good enough on the ball. our system relies heavily on Busi, and when he's not playing we clearly suffer without him. Mascherano, who is a far better and much more complete DM than Kante is even struggles in this system as a lone Pivot.

kante will replace rakitic not busquets
our MF will be
kante= the runner, cutting off all attacks
busi= A DM with more freedom with kante on his side
iniesta= freer to join msn further up the field

Nope. Casemiro is a destroyer. Rakitic helps a lot in defense, but he's not a destroyer. He's very intelligent and versatile, has very good positioning and is great on the ball. Neither is Busi, the DM. That kind of player doesn't really suit Barça. Like when Masch played DM.

with busi, a harder working iniesta and rakitic we were still overrun in midfield.

Yeah, have you been seeing the euros? And what Rakitic with freedom can do? Having MSN upfront has its costs. Hard to try to have a discussion when you cling to bs like Rakitic "not being creative". Kante won't do anything, as he is not joining Barça.

Yeah he defends and runs a lot here but that really doesn't mean he's a pure "Destroyer". even if his role is different here he doesn't just "Defend" he also makes runs into the box and outside MSN he's our highest goal scorer as well.
