No. A LB is needed. If he can play RB too, even better. Alba gets injured a lot, and we can't really rely on Mathieu. Also, Umtiti just arrived. And Bob cannot play there.

Mathieu sucked as LB,Umtiti has played something like 3 games as LB in the last 3 years while Roberto only played there couple of times.Don't think any of them really fits our system as LB
Hard to say that any of them can really cover it.they are good as a desperate option in injury crisis not as main back up LB

Using Umtiti,Roberto and Mathieu as LB backups for Alba feels like a band aid on a huge wound that needed attention ages ago.

We really can't keep doing this. Mathieu originally was a LB, but those days are long gone as he clearly struggles playing in the role now and with his ankle and calf problems he's better off playing CB for now on.

Roberto while he's capable of playing RB, with him being right footed he's clearly limited playing as a LB compared to RB.

Umtiti just got here and again he hasn't played LB much in the last three years like Khaled said. He's a CB and it should stay that way.

Reading the Fullback article. By Fernando Polo (Very Reliable) and Angel Perez.

From what I make of it, the Technical staff thinks the Mathieu at LB experiment is no longer an Option now due to Mathieu's age and recent knee surgery. They also raised the issue of perhaps having Umtiti, Filling in at LB for Alba, but they staff thinks Umtiti would be way to defensive to play as a Barcelona style LB.

So they're looking for a Fullback that can not only play on the Left hand side but also as a RB as well.
