Not a fan of Gomes. He is too slow in mind and body.

Will cost too much also.

25 million and I'd take the risk but 45-50 is too much. Valencia won't budge from that price.

I think the appeal to Lucho from gomes is that he's a Box 2 Box midfielder and can use both his feet.

But for the price Valencia wants... it would be a major gamble.

Here's the write up from Fernando Polo in regards to the Forward Situation.

Today, the club has a front hiring priority, in parallel with efforts to convince the Valencia and André Gomes to undertake the signing of Portuguese. Of course, incorporating a point to complement the trident is essential while getting Gomes services is not an imperative because the media is quite cover. Thus, the major efforts focus on the front, a goalscorer, above all, give rest to Luis Suarez and can supply you with guarantees if the Uruguayan suffers a mishap in the form of injury or suspension.
Today, the still picture of this process, which can progress to the closure of the market said that the directors of FC Barcelona are more the work of a young man who sign a veteran forward. As we explained last Monday, the technical secretariat has prepared two lists of points, one formed by young people with projection and a second composed of experts with front and well furnished head to assume its role in secondary principle. And it is that having ahead to Messi-Neymar-Suarez hat - trick is a clear synonymous substitution usual, except any injury.
In this scenario, the thesis that manages top management is that it is better to bet on a young and tour player who, over time, can be a good alternative to Luis Suarez (29 years) when the Uruguayan required more dosage by a matter of age. A Suarez on which there is no doubt and that the board wants to improve the profile and extend his contract (which ends in 2019).
The thesis of spending money on a young tip already applied with Nolito, who has gone to the City. Gameiro (Sevilla) really like to Luis Enrique but is 29 years old.
Today, with these parameters, according to club sources is best placed Luciano Vietto, Atletico striker, age (22 years), quality (his first season at Villarreal, was spectacular 2014-15) and its current situation (not yet fully in his first year at the Atleti and Simeone has put on the market). The Argentine also maintains a very good relationship with Leo Messi, the leader of the Catalan front. In addition, it costs the Atleti 20 million and, therefore, could not ask for more than that figure because, in addition, has already paid part of a year. Others are young people who like Santi Mina (Valencia) and Ajax tips Milik (with bids from Italy) and El Ghazi, plus some 'blocked' Robert handled.

and also He wrote this in regards to the recent drama.

FC Barcelona has several fronts on transfer. The club wants to incorporate a forward as relay Suarez, versatile André Gomes (22 years) and an carrilero to strengthen the left wing but, if possible, may also act on the right. To achieve all this, or at least to try, it takes many millions. According to the financial vice president, Susana Monje, there are 43 'kilos' only to sign more than you can get by sales (Vermaelen, Adriano, Douglas).
These accounts out of subtracting from the 68 million who had to sign (60 annual budget for market plus 8 selling Bartra) 25 invested in Umtiti. Overall, 43 million. Despite the signing of the central place in fiscal year 2015-16, as advanced RAC1, Monk argues that it can not count on 68 million signing ahead of the 2016-17 campaign. In addition, the arbitration award obliges Can Rigalt Barca to return 47 million. A gloomy outlook in principle because it seems that is negative counter million to sign.
S owever, policy sources explained that the MD 47 'kilos' Can Rigalt not affect the signings because we are at beginning of year 16 to 17 and there is scope to enter the amount of the penalty. On the other hand, same sources suggest that if for signings that are considered strategic have to throw the budget of the 2017-18 campaign market, they will do as they did in the summer of 2014, before the entry into force FIFA sanction that prevented register players, advancing money transfer for the 2015-16 campaign.

The "Left Wing" is Left back just to let you know.

Gomes is kinda the same as Fabregas. Quite slow both in speed and quick decisions but technical.
Very offensive, often more than the attackers, just like Fabregas.
And that didnt work well at all.
Instead of adding another offensive midfilder, we should get a deep playing passing central midfielder.

Gomes had 1 assist last season and 3 assists this season. In 63 league games. He doesnt score much either. His overall passing is mediocre as well. He lacks composure too. I dont see anything special with him at all.

We were trying to buy him for the B team but we decided it was best to get a first option deal on him. (Future sale)

First time I hear about him but he's a big man with 1.93 m. He'll be a part of Colombia Olympic team so hopefully he'll play in Rio and we could see him in action.

I don't like buying players from Atletico... Barca has had much more success buying from Sevilla in recent years. Gamerio would have the bigger impact, coming off the bench. Imo.
