We know Bernardo was rumoured out to Barca last summer and the combination of timing for City and Barca's mess made it improbable. Situation is different and the Mendes meeting early in the window suggests long-term planning was already set in motion

Everything is predicated on what happens with FDJ but I have no doubt Bernardo is a real possibility to cap this incredible window

Yep, that's how scouting works. You just have to watch one pre-season friendly to assess a player's qualities.

I do not see him dropping Pedri when he has apparently said he would love to play Pedri with Bernardo Silva.

I don't think Bernardo in for Gavi or Kessie as an 8 makes the midfield more suceptible to being overrun. He has a very high workrate and has often played fairly deep in midfield for City, sometimes practically even as a double pivot with Rodri so KDB could have more freedom.
