I don't think Bernardo in for Gavi or Kessie as an 8 makes the midfield more suceptible to being overrun. He has a very high workrate and has often played fairly deep in midfield for City, sometimes practically even as a double pivot with Rodri so KDB could have more freedom.

Bernardo apparently runs an average of 13Km per game

Don't think City and Pep would sell for any kind of money, IF they haven't secured first an elite replacement, adequate to Bernardo's level.

From what I see around, there is not even a rumor at all of that kind of replacement

Also Bernardo has an agreement from Pep that he will not stand in his way if the asking price ( 80 million) is met .
