I think its the best chance both for him and for Club to part..
The club can gain 30-40 mil and use this amount to buy defender, two keepers and a CM like Gundogan, that can substitute Xavi.
Also, its the best for Cesc. He doesnt fit here and its highly unlikely and stupid at the same time to reshuffle the whole way we play to accomodate Cesc's style.. In EPL, where the games are fast, a lot of transitions and less patient tiki taka, he can still be very effective, in 4-2-3-1 behind striker..

As for replacements: there is no Xavi replacement. Xavi is Xavi, Thiago is Thiago and Cesc is Cesc. There will be a replacement for Xavi's position, but I guess that both players should and will try to offer their own style of gameplay.

Barca's style will evolve into something else. Neither Cesc not Thiago plays like Xavi. But Cesc will still be the heir. It will be his midfield to command one day. Thiago will be with him as well. Both have different talents than Xavi and Iniesta. Obviously the philosophy of Barca will remain, but the playing system will undergo tweeks here and there like it has since Rijkaard's days. Cesc and Thiago will form a different kind of partnership than that of Xavi and Iniesta and only time will tell to see how it does.
