I'm not so sure. He never convinced in midfield. I'm aware of the argument that we are more direct now.

He would have been in and out and that wouldn't have pleased him. I think he needs to be the main midfield man, and we couldn't offer him that.

Fabregas is way more talented than Rakitic, but is not suited for us at all. When I saw Cesc play at 19 I thought he would be the best CM in the world after Xavi. He's an excellent player but not as good as he could have been.
