As for teams going at it with 100% full strength, don't kid yourself if you think it's a 50-50....Barca starting 11 are bar none the world best this season, Bayern may have better squad depth, but best starting 11, 50-50, like REALLY???
More or less, imo, we (Barca) had the best starting 11 in almost every Season in the last 10 years (since 2005 when we had Ronnie, Etoo, Larsson, Guily, Vaxi, Deco, Iniesta, Puyol, Marquez, Gio, Valdez, and later Van Bommel, Edmilson, Messi etc).
We won CL 3 times in those 10 attempts, even though every time on paper we had the most "skillful/technically" best players.
There is a post from Bayern on twitter, someone posted it here, that it is not all about (technical) skills.
Especially in 180 minutes of knockout matches.
If technically best teams would win the CL all the time, then Barca and Real would both have 10+10 titles in the last 20 years, and we would both play El Classico final every Season.
And Brasil and Spain would win the WC every time.
I don't see a point in comparing player to a player because a win is usually not a sum of 11 X 1 vs 1 duels.
Messi at 50%, dont ever forget that. On top of that, us Barca fans aren't even trying to discredit Bayern win in 2013, as they would have advanced anyway even with both teams going at it 100%....due to overly messi reliant, decline of our key players, messed up situation in whole Barca organization, on and on. Yes Bayern deserved to advance vs Barca in 2013, just not 7-0 better.
As of now, what I'm seeing is that Bayern fans are getting ready for their excuses in case Bayern fall short and trying to suggest that this Bayern team this year at 100% is 50-50 vs this Barca team at 100%??? MSN- arguably the best attacking trio in history of football, like really? Ok, if you think so, whatever floats your boat.
Why do you bother with excuses from opponent's fans?
1. we have yet to see who will play for Bayern and how many players are actually injured
2. and we have yet to win against that team over 180 Minutes
3. after that, we can discuss minor problems like opponents fans and excuses
Scoring some goals on the field against them and keeping a clean sheet is a much bigger problem than what some fan from another team will say.
Plus, not to mention that WE would be saying the same thing if would have been in their shoes.
Teams who lose are always whining.
But wait, they haven't lost yet.
We have a lot of work to do before that.
