Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Now we have Ribéry et al crying about it :D

Well done to CR7, he thoroughly deserved this price and he worked hard for it :)

Platini is triste too. Told the press that he's disappointed and that "things have changed since the FIFA is involved with this trophy". Rib said something about the thing being not so important and so on.

People take the Ballon d'Or way too seriously.

I don't know where you read this from Ribéry, as he left the gala without a word. He was obviously disappointed which is kind of hilarious as it was clear he had no chance.
People on here mocking Ronaldo are doing so not because they think Ronaldo is undeserving, but rather because of the reopening of the votes and all this crap

Rib gave an interview in the hotel.

And it's not about mocking C Ron. It's about this award being taken too seriously by the pundits and representatives. The fact that it's an individual award in a team sport should alone be enough of a hint as to how important the award is in the overall context

Under normal circumstances, Ribery would have had a chance and he had all right to believe so. He got twice as many votes as Messi and more than ten times as many votes as CR in the UEFA award, and now he was only 4% behind CR, that's as close as it can get. I don't remember any bdor where the difference between first and third was that close - in a normal year, that is, one with a fit Messi, the difference between first and second would be something like 20%. That doesn't mean that he would be more deserving than CR or that he isn't an annoying brat. I don't think so considering that the main reason he got into the focus so much was the Bayern camp's campaign to make him the face of Bayern in order to increase their chances to have a bdor winner in their ranks.

I just hope that both him and CR will stfu from now on and stand by their word that they "do the talking on the pitch", something which seems a bit ridiuclous considering how much they talk.

As for the bdor, I have nothing against it as such but the media attention it gets for three straight months is over the top. From September onwards games are written about mainly with regard to how the bdor candidates fare. I agree with Wenger too, those awards spark animosity that goes beyond team competition or even normal individual competition. That Messi - CR "enmity" wouldn't be half as bad if it weren't for those awards. (Still, I hope that Messi will beat CR's ass next time again, I'm not that diplomatic).

Hopefully he will stop acting like a fucking cry-baby and the whole world is against him, now.

Order will be restored next year.

The bitterness towards Ronaldo is over the top, no? I mean you guys can be more tolerant of him winning it, no? Just too much hate, and name calling for nothing.

Congrats to Ronaldo.....He deserved it and the stats show he's scored 20 goals more than Messi in the calender year.....Most fans here seem to think that if Messi is injured for a period of time than the achievement of Ronaldo during that time should be ignored by voters....
its really foolish to think it didn't help Ronaldo chances, this award loses some of its flavor for that fact, whether Ronaldo fans care to admit it or not. Ronaldo won it, but he did not beat Leo when he was 100%

plus I think Leo was beating him in the beginning of the year, Ronaldos chances of winning it increased dramatically when Portugal faced the almighty Sweden and scored a lot of goals in the process. Ribery should have won it.

LOL
I thought the "F" in FIFA stands for "fairness".
Kinda reminded me of the U.S. Presidential Election Campaign. Who can tongue the most assholes?
You show 'em Leo :worthy:
Pathetic! :yucky:
Reassuring to know that impartiality and fairplay still exists in FIFA. This award has about as much credibility as the Eurovision Song Contest. But only from THIS year! It was totally above board when Messi was winning it. :pep:
Good to know these fukwits from Qatar have our backs. :sarcasm:

In general arabs are very pro-madrid.
