Nah Messi has been the better player for imo. That stats are misleading, especially when you consider the penalty count.
I wonder where Ronaldo ranks all time? So united fans are saying he's up there with the very best but I think he's a level just below. He doesn't quite make it into Elite level of players.
Did Messi shit in your cheerios? You appear to have it out for him lately, or has this always been the case?

Defends better? When has Ronaldo ever defended in his life? As you seem to love Whoscored so much, here's a stat for you: Ronaldo has 0 tackles and 0 interceptions in 10 games in La Liga this season.
Better aerially? Apart from the fact that this is largely irrelevant for a winger, CR has won 42.42% of his aerial duels, in La Liga, and Neymar 42.85%.
And I won't even go into other parts, if you think Cristiano is a better dribbler or better creator than Neymar, you need glasses, or higher definition TV.

Ronaldo 5 assists, Neymar 1 assist, Ronaldo 2.8 Key passes per game, Neymar 0.7 Key passes per game
"Better aerially"
Ronaldo 1.4 aerial wins per game, Neymar 0.6 aerial wins per game
"Stronger"
... obvious
"Better dribbler"
Ronaldo 2 dribbles per game (1.7 unsuccessful, 2.0 successful) , dispossessed 1.1 times per game, Neymar 1.8 dribbles per game (2.0 unsuccessful, 1.8 successful), dispossessed 1.4 times per game.

I'm a complete neutral on the subject, and yes I watch the games. Neymar is a great talent and one day may go on to reach Cristiano's level, but Ronaldo is the finished product right now and is pretty much better in all departments. Neymar has better close control, that's about it at the moment.

What a manipulative stat, look at the percentages and Neymar wins despite being 10 cm shorter. Or do you think if I go into 100 aerial duels per match and I win 5 out of them, I'm "better aerially" than Ronaldo?
Maybe because Ronaldo has acres of space at Madrid and Neymar almost none at Barcelona? I'm sorry but watch Brazil's matches, even against the big teams and you'll see Neymar is clearly superior in this aspect.

Ronaldo has far more aerial duels per game vs Centre backs of opposing teams, Neymar being more of a winger would likely be winning his vs full backs. Ronaldo actually plays for this stat, are you seriously trying to argue Neymar is better in the air than Ronaldo?
That's your opinion, stats say otherwise. I believe he will eventually become a better dribbler than Ronaldo when he bulks up a bit and stops falling over so easily.. it's not Ronaldo's best trait. But currently he is not.

If these are accurate, I cannot express how much I don't care about this shit.
All the time I'm talking in most general sense and people seem to worship these stats like crazy. Many consider Ronaldhino or Maradona
to be the best ever (even some of my Madrid fan friends) and they don't have high scoring sheets.
Let's just take hypothetical situation where you have a player which has ability to shoot the ball so accurate that every shot is at least 60% of the goal and that is his only ability.
Mathematically speaking that player will score at lest 1 or 2 goals in every match. Does that makes him the best footballer?
If math is all there is, then every goal keeper is amazing, because they save far more goals then there are shots placed on the goal.
