Well I've never seen anything on a football pitch like pre-injury Ronaldo, so I'll let him aside. Cristiano for me is clearly the best footballer in the last 20 years after Messi. Better than Zidane, Ronaldinho and other great players.
Messi is better. Way better ? No. But he is. The Argentinian can both create and score goals. While Cristiano is a better in terms of scoring, Messi is a much much better creator. While Cristiano primarly activates in the last 20-25 metres, you see Messi all over the field given his superior technique. The Portuguese is way more dangerous in the penalty box, he has the complete arsenal. You can't want more from an attacker. But as an overall footballer Messi is better. Cristiano has better movement, is faster, better physically, a danger in the air(maybe the best header in the world, given his technique and also vertical) and has a better shot on him. I also consider him a better finisher, by a bit. As good first touch, even if you might laugh at this. Technically Messi edges him, as well as when it comes to creating chances, given to his better vision and much better passing.

For fuck sake, take away fucking goals from Cristina what are you left with?

Playmakers are equally important as goal scorers and messi is the only player that is legend class in both of these aspects.
Cristiano will be remembered in the same note as Gerard Muller, which isn't bad.

Scoring is football's objective, but one cannot deduce football to scoring only. If you do so, you are missing the beauty of the game and that where players like Leo excels at.
That inner feeling we get every time he receives the ball. Also midfield, requires huge amount of creativity...if I were a professional footballer player, I would play in MF. I just love making
great, clever passes more then goals. You don't score much there, but responsibility and football intelligence required on world class level is just insane.
How do we measure these players if goals are the only count we accept?

About Ronaldo's prime times. It's combination of talent and LUCK. If Leo didn't hit all these posts and scored instead, we would all be hyped about him. It could have happened easily.
That goes for any player. But Leo shows so much more then that....waaaaay more. It's insane what we got used to with that player. But maybe he should really start diving to earn penalties.
How many did he had them so far? 0 or 1 maybe? Assists, do they matter anymore? In my eyes they are just as good as goals.

From a subjective point of view I can't really say Leo is miles ahead of Ronaldo like he was before, in Leos regime years no matter what feat Ronaldo would accomplish Leo would simply overshadow it, currently I can't safely say Leo is miles ahead of Ronaldo, because nowadays CR playing in a team where everything is working for him and RM, not so much with Leo and Barca, but then I watch games like the one he played against Croatia, and I tell myself, there's simply nothing Ronaldo could do to really make a case for himself, I realize Leo is not really sharp in his finishing yet, but boy is the rest of his game simply magic.

Like Flavia, I think Messi is better. But I won't bring arguments like cutting Ronaldo's legs to prove that.

But scoring doesn't cover the entire part of football, while all actors pretty much do is acting. Of course Ronaldo is a fantastic player but it was merely to emphasise that he only excels in 1 area as opposed to players like Messi who are more complete.
