Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

AS editor Alfredo Relano believes continued knee trouble is behind Cristiano Ronaldo's lack of form for Real Madrid:

"Seeing how he rations his runs, I have come to believe that the problems in his knee remain," writes Relano. He suggests that "Ronaldo is not what he previously was" and pinpoints the player's lack of goals from free-kicks as evidence of an underlying injury.

 At least pick a more meaningful stat to prove existence of an injury.

In addition, AS survey [of 2,452 Madrid fans] has 92.1% saying one of BBC must be dropped, with 32.2% saying bench Ronaldo.

And he knows this because he is a doctor in close contact with Ronaldo? or just a journalist making excuses for a wage.
"the knee" every time he plays bad, what a joke.

It must be great to have a fallback cushion excuse like that for every bad game you play. Honestly it doesn't seem like he's in any pain? He seems to jump as high and run as quick as usual to me, he's just not playing that well.

Deal with it, Madrid. :pep:

Here we go again, Ronaldo's mysterious knee problem that no orthopedic doctor can cure, something that occurs every time he doesn't score, a condition that miraculously goes away every time he scores.

It was fine for you guys, to excuse Messi's relatively dissapointing 2014. Everyone used that excuse, right or wrong. So i feel justified using the same excuse for Ronaldo everytime he doesnt score/play bad :pep:

There is a key difference though: Messi actually was injured for a long time, and was in a circle of never really recovering before getting another setback. After he came back in the beginning of 2014 he spent some time to recover from it, which took a while - it actually lasted into the WC where he was noticably not himself. This season he's been getting more and more back to his old self though. This whole story is directly connected to the injury that started in 2013 against PSG.

Ronaldo was last injured in may 2014, but quickly recovered back to his best as we saw in the start of this season, so his drop in form that coincided with him winning the Hype d'Or can't be explained by those previous injuries. He started great in the fall but he couldn't keep it up - his physical form seems similar to what it was back then though.

To be serious, Ronaldo was not quite himself for the last few months of last season and wc. Ancelotti kept playing him every game only for Ronaldo to halt of the pitch and back next game. It carried through the summer. He was quite different when he returned in pre-season after a few weeks rest. Not like Ronaldo had the optimal 2014 either. This season he hasnt really had problems though. But i will still use that as an excuse everytime he plays bad :pep:
