Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
I think he'll gonna win it, but I doubt the clásico will have played any role in this. Ronaldo's performance was too poor and was too much perceived as being poor in the media I've read/seen to make any difference. So if Messi was in with a chance before this game, he still has one. CR is the clear favourite because of the CL record, la décima and his scoring record this year, but how both fare in the next few weeks (LL record? CL all-time record? etc) will probably be more decisive than this game where both didn't stand out at all.

I think the media will use this as a yardstick, 'The Clasico where Messi failed and Ronaldo did well.'

You're right about Cristiano not doing well, but he scored a penaldo, that's all you need these days.

Its so strange. CR on 3 Leo 4...
Its such an inaccurate representation of the difference between them. Look at Leo 08-12. We will never see anything like that again. Not just stats; his touch, control, passing, vision, dribbling, interplay.. it was mindblowing and theres never been anything like it. Ronaldo is a 1/100th of it in his dreams.

And yet... he'll only be 1 d'Or behind. At this rate he'll get next years to. CR on 4 d'Ors. Leos equal. Its just... not accurate

Yeah, Ronaldo will win his 3rd and probably the 4th at this rate. We just have to deal with it and get used to it. The fact is, some players peak later (such as Robben, Ribery), and this ultra-fit, perfect physical specimen guy Ronaldo, coupled with his ultra-motivated desire to score and compete, will not slow down any time soon and he might surprise everyone by having a longer career, or at least longer peak time than Messi. It is quite plausible that he might have more goals than Messi when both retire.

At the moment he has more goals and with Messi moving more and more in a Nr 10 role and CR7 more and more as a 9 it will probably stay that way. But its not that important, both players will probably end up with over 600 official career goals.

Except Ronaldo has two titles to his name, Messi has nothing.

In a regular year, that would be enough. But cr did nothing in the wc. Messi didn't win it, but reached the final. The best decision would be neither to get the bdor, but a german player.

The Germans won it as a team , there was no one who really stood out, maybe Neuer. I would nominate these three if we couldn't choose from messi and Ronaldo : Di maria , robben and Neuer. Who would you pick ?

Why, RM did not win as team ? semi-final and final RM for sure they do not have to thanks CR. They won as team.

Neuer should win.
CR won the Uefa Best Player with not even 50% of the votes (2nd Neuer, 3rd. Robben)

But CR will win it.

Ofc you win trophies as a team , but you usually have someone who really stands out and from RM it was Di maria and Ronaldo. I said if you could nominate 3 players for the BD , but it couldn't be Ronaldo or Messi. I chose the 3 that I mentioned above.

I agree, Neuer deserves it, but Ronaldo will win it.

What titles did Ronaldo have when he won the 2013 BD?

None.

This has become a goal scoring competition, Messi won the 2010 by scoring plenty and assisting as well, being garbage in the WC. However when these two are near identical with goals and assists, it makes more sense that it goes to the player who won the Copa del Rey, CL.
