Its not bad news, we concede way too many goals trough Alves' side despiet him still being able to offer something in attack.

I prefer an abidal type rb as replacement to balance things out not get a poor version of Alves with the fiorentina winger.

I'd like to see the rest of our squad, other than Neymar, holding the banana.
You certainly wont see Messi doing that as it isnt his style. The same goes for the Spaniards (Valdes, Xavi, Iniesta, Busi, Cesc, Pique, Pedro).

Maybe Cesc or Pique would do that but still

And then we will buy Marquinhos from them. How much we will need to pay PSG for Marquinhos. I remember he went for 31M or somehing like that.

Wonderful support from fellow professionals but has this prompted a debate in the Spanish footballing media or media in general in Spain? Just curious if it's caused a wave in the press.

Barcelona defender Dani Alves says the racist abuse he received at Villarreal should be unacceptable in modern Spain.

The Brazilian had a banana thrown at him by a spectator during the 3-2 win for his side but responded by eating it.

He insisted after the match that he had become used to such abuse, but has now called on Spain to stamp out the problem once and for all.

"There is a lot of racism [in Spain] towards foreigners," he told Radio Globo.

"We can´t accept this kind of thing, especially in First World countries [like Spain]. Fifa should pay attention to such things."

Several footballers posted pictures of themselves on Twitter eating bananas as a message of support and Alves said he was overwhelmed by the incident.

"It was incredible," added Alves. "An action by someone who didn't consider the consequences. The world is evolving and we must evolve with it."

banana or not dani needs to go. if we are serious about refreshing barcelona so we can actually compete next year we have to do away with what is no longer working.

are you going to rely on miracle own goals that come as a result of aimless crossing? dear god, we are barcelona. we can do much better. dani is old blood now.

We can do much better? Dani is still one of the best right backs in the world. Cuadrado and De Sciglio are nowhere near him.
