Worst player again tonight caught out of position far too often, no way would I give him a new deal. Very pleased he is suspended for next CL again as Adriano is a far more solid and reliable player.

Adraino isn't just worse than Alves, he's worse than Montoya... Both going forward and in defense...

That why he was out of position so often in the second half when they were the side that needed to chase the game, luckily their final ball was poor. Alves simply does not have the pace to get forward and then get back to defend like he use to do and like Alba does.

Most of the dangerous moves came down Albas side though it felt like.

Neither can be asked to play so far up park and get back to defend every time.

People all the time claim they were out of position in situations it would be impossible for them to get back.

Alves, defensively, actually wasn't much of a problem. He made a crucial tackle early on and wasn't completely absent as wingers tore his flank to shreds like he normally does.

Offensively, is another story. Refusing to pass to anyone but Messi until he has absolutely no choice but to try and get rid of the ball... irksome. A couple of times he had Rakatic wide open but chose instead to try and find Messi, who was covered.

That was no yellow card. And it wasn't a foul IMO. Alves barely touched him.

We are going to really really miss him in the first leg of the quarter finals. He drove forward excellently and tracked back very well.. Some of the combination plays that he had with leo reminded me of his early years at the club.

His yellow may not be that bad. It was a pretty big gamble because we may draw any of Atleti, Juve, or Bayern, but if we draw Monaco or Porto we could probably win with a few reserves in the squad anyways. Or we could use the 3 man backline that had PSG completely clueless.
