They really paid 100 mil for him ?

LOL.

It is the first big deal under their new SD, and honestly it is the type of deal that make Liverpool continue among the elite or retreat to the norm.
Still, he is the same price as Tchoumeni, so not that much of overpriced in comparison lol

Liverpool can afford to have one 100m dud atleast with the fact that they have EPL money at best, and sellable player assets at worst.

Not saying he will fail, but the risk is relative.

While had three 100m+ duds... In a row! And are looking to make sub 50m from all three leaving.

Perspective.

Yea, just because we shat the bed immensely, doesn't mean that now every 100m signing is a disaster or something. I'm sure his wages will be reasonable for a start.

But I get the reactions. Basically, clubs that were already 1-2 levels above us prior to this summer are the ones getting things done and signing highly valuable players while we have to make up with renewing Sergi Roberto.

Grim times to be a Barca fan . Seems like we'll be looking in the window for a few years while we try to sort out our shit.

While majority of 100M+ has flopped, no one arguing he is flop, but it is typical high risk high reward deal.
And I disagree with Porque that Liverpool can afford a 100M dud, they aren't owned by sugar daddy owner, they need to be ruthless in the market.
With Mane moving, Salah seems on his way out on free agency , VVD is 31, same with Thiago and most of their core is 29+ they will need to replace many players with other elite ones.
Having 100M flop sets them back massively, having 100 success ensures they are heading in right direction

All these transfers just put into context that we are truly broke, can't even sign without a player leaving first.

Don't know much about him, so won't pretend like some, but I hope It works out.
