I understand the allure/obsession with the player but I will not be disappointed should we fail to sign him. Bigger issues will be shedding the dead weight & salaries, having a comprehensive & tenable sporting plan on how to improve the squad with the new board & convincing Leo to extend

From there, there will always be targets of preference - even a lower tier prospect like Isak could pay big dividends in a balanced squad
We are skint and if Messi leaves, are glamour is gone. No top player would want to join Barca.

Bruh we have already gotten rid of one of our best goalscorers ever (Suarez), and we might lose Messi as well. Who will score our goals? Apart from Fati who managed to score a few here and there we have no reliable scorers. A decent Isak is not enough, we must have someone to replace Messis and Suarezs numbers.

Barcelona has always managed to attract big names. With or without Leo. Even in worse states than this one. Not saying it'll be Haaland, though. No doubt the club bounces back.

Yeah the likes of Barca, RM, United etc will always be able to attract big names.

United was able to get Pogba from the CL finalists ffs

Thiago??? Aldo Van Dijk is a big signing with 75 millions (not a big name pre Liverpool though).

Thiago was never a big signing.
VVD & Alison were, but both was funded with Coutinho deal. FSG tries to operate within the club financial limits so it will be the same.
Now, they could sell Salah and maybe Mane, but to whom and with how much, and are they attractive destination to Halaand/Mpabbe without their superstar and no CL?

Isak is not good enough for Barca and will never be good enough for Barca. Isak's ceiling is Inaki Williams.

We need to stop this. Spending 50-60m for Isak would be insanity.

The reason we're in this mess is because we've been spending big money on misfits or overpaying for average players or bonafide scrubs.

I'd rather save that money if we cannot get Haaland.

Player that scores 10 goals per season and is not starter for team is not player for Barca.

We need stop with this kinda of players.

We saw that with Grizzy fem boy.

Striker that does not score goals.

Haaland or no one. Upgrade CB,LB or CDM.

You're absolutely right that current Isak ain't good enough as a starter for a perennial UCL-contender, but it's a bit harsh.

Isak has already 12 goals + 2 assists and is a big reason why Real Sociedad have a shot for 4th place.

He's only 21 years old and can very well become a world class striker. Or just turning into the new Inaki Williams.

That's just my opinion based on what I've seen of him. His attitude bothers me too. Great goalscorers are almost psychopathic and ruthless in their chase for goals. Isak is a guy who loses his confidence and starts sulking after a couple of bad misses.

Barca should not pay 50-60m for a player hoping he develops that kind of hunger and becomes a great striker.

You can pay 10m for a player like that and bet on his talent and potential, but not the kind of money Real Sociedad/Borussia Dortmund will want for him.

Haha, great point, actually. I also don't think either Barca or RM could go as long as United have without winning major trophies. (Fingers crossed).

It would actually be neat if Real got Mbappe and we got Haaland. Would make a great narrative for the next 5 years or so.

Had a pretty invisible half against Hertha in the first half, Haaland didn't get a lot of service, he might have only had a couple of touches so far (and he only had a header that was wide) as Hertha was very compact in the back and didn't leave a lot of spaces open.

As every striker in the world he needs service. Dortmund is too bad for him.
