Snippets from article pertaining to the transfer:

Guardiola and Begiristain trust each other implicitly, so if one man makes a strong case about a player, one of City’s or otherwise, the other will go along with it. Whether Haaland ends up following in his dad’s footsteps by donning the blue shirt or not will only be finalised in the coming weeks — other English clubs believe he is destined for the Etihad, while Spanish sources are adamant Real Madrid have a very good chance.

City representatives spoke to Haaland’s father, Alfie (who had just signed for the club himself when Erling was born in July 2000), a couple of weeks ago; which, of course, means their top brass have already sanctioned a potential transfer and the wheels are in motion. For that to happen City’s chief decision-makers, including Guardiola, all need to be in agreement. So surely he’s seen enough? He has done, but it’s not necessarily always the case.

If Man City spend another 100m+ then I'll happily join the pep is a fraud club. No way do they need to spend more money to win things. I know 100m+ would end up being good value for Haaland but still, every club is in a financial crisis and they can splash the cash like it's nothing. Super League is coming far quicker with Man City doing stuff like this.

I don't mind him at City at all. At least he has a genuine connection to them. Much better for us than him going to Madrid.

Just begs the question what we do with our CF position (not that I believe we can afford him anyway).

Much much better to see him join City. If not us, let's hope he doesn't join Madrid (worst case for us), or Bayern (2nd worst).

Worst case? We go another year with what we have, with the addition of Ansu.

I'd rather us not spending anything than buying a 30-40m striker for the sake of it.

Yea. No problem with us signing nobody really. I can look forward the next season with only Ansu getting back, Dembele staying fit and hopefully improving, and the youngsters improving and gaining experience. Maybe have Araujo staying fit more and so on...

If anything selling some players is more important. The only signing that will really make an impact for us is Haaland. Not even convinced a CB is on the market that will improve us a lot, looking at Mingueza and Araujo and their progress. Pique is still good as well. And De Jong is great as an organizer in a deep position thanks to his very high IQ and great positioning and reading of the game.

Haaland is great and will fit any team but I still think he will be more lethal at Real Madrid and Bayern than say us, so I wouldn't be too upset if he doesn't come as long as he doesn't join those two.

City would be a very nice destination for him and for us, if he doesn't come here.

Depends imo, some Barca iterations fit his style very well. The only version of Barca in the last 15 years that is not built to his strength is the peak-Messi version in 2010-2012.

Lucho's Barca, Rijkaard's Barca, and seemingly Koeman's Barca fit him great. Because they are more direct teams with physicality and speed on transitions. I will ignore the Amigo-Barca under EV and Setien for obvious reasons.

Yes however his touches, controls and finesse in tight spaces still concern me a bit, even when we play more direct we will still be facing a lot of parked buses without a lot of open space. It is probably just me, to me he beats one defender without problems usually however when facing two defenders cornering him, he loses possession most of the time without having the opportunity/knowing when to pass the ball, unless he draws a foul. And he easily gets isolated when he doesn't get service. I reckon I haven't watched him enough to formulate a full picture of the guy, just my subjective observation so far.

Depay,Aguero or maybe Darwin from Benfica.

I would be no happy with any of them as our starting number 9.

Rather invest in some other positions.

Kane,Lukaku would not be worst but they just signed contracts and I don't belive there is anyone else who would improve us.

Maybe they will try with Isak, but again he is not goalscoring machine.
