MSN was best thing that happened to Barca in last 10 years.

Trying to make out it failed in some way is laughable.

The standards are have to win CL every time no matter how the rest of the team is?

They never suffered 'multiple' humiliations either.

0-4 and 0-3 back to back away losses is pretty consistent with the word humiliation.

MSN weren't very good in CL apart from those months in 2015.

Not sure MSN is the best thing that happened to Barca in the last 10 years. Brought us great moments, but also created problems.

Nah they came back and won one of those ties so far from humilation.

They lost one tie in a bad way in 3 seasons.

Not 'multiple' at all.

Barca won the CL and multiple league titles with MSN.

Sure, and our rival won even more. Too much Amigo clowning around for my taste, and too soft when it was CL time. It was a very good trio, but let's not sugarcoat it.

Unless we talk about peak level. Yeah, 2015 was amazing. Still, it was 1 season. Burned bright, but very short.

Well done to Real winning more. They were better in CL those other two seasons.

Point remains. MSN were by far main reason Barca won the one they did win and did not suffer multiple humiliations.

Barca didnt just 'become soft' in CL.

Empty cliches.

They won the CL very dominantly in 2015...beating PSG in GS, and then City, PSG, Bayern, Juve in KOs. Probably one of the toughest CL paths in recent memory as all were league champions at the time it happened.

But, then they underachieved massively. I would have been ecstatic with 2 CLs in 3 years with MSN, but 1 in 3 is a bit underwhelming. In short, amazing peak, but not enough longevity.

RM had 2 amazing CL wins (14,17) and 2 underwhelming ones. But ultimately the non football purists remember 4 in 5 years.

The saving grace is that MSN won the most statistical dominant treble in European football history. 13/14 RM finished 3rd in league and 16/17 RM, while close, didn't dominate all 3 fronts at the same time.

They were undeniably soft in CL after 2015. Come on, FFS... you have MSN, and Dybala has the match of his life in front of them... fucking Dybala never did anything else of note other than smashing MSN Barca.

They were soft South-Americans who liked to hang out and do stuff together but were a level below in terms of competitive spirit compared with the Madrid players.

Tale as old as time. Mega-talented players have a big super-hit season, then gradually slack off and subside, while the more consistent challengers, BBC Madrid go at it every time in CL at full tilt and focus and win the big ones.

If MSN were as dedicated to win as the greatest athletes are, they win 2-3 CLs just like that. They were that good. They don't fucking lose 4-0 vs Di Maria, Draxler (lol), Dybala and fucking Cuadrado.

No...'soft' is just an empty cliches as said.

The team as a whole were not good enough to make up for MSN when off form and often dipped a bit in that time of season but not soft.

Again... about only reason Barca won that sole CL and got better of Real in league was MSN. The Real side outwith front lines were a good bit stronger.

They didnt suffer multiple humiliations.

Having the best trio of all time and winning only one cl is horrible stuff. The season after 14-15 has already started bad with loosing 0-4 against bilbao.

When did this become a thing?

Actually I don't blame MSN for the 16/17 CL losses...could have done better than 0-3 v Juve but the midfield had decayed exponentially (Busquets and Iniesta were finished and Rakitic was last legs) and the defense was basically Roberto, Alba, Pique, and ancient Mascherano. MATS had also started becoming MATS (although we didn't know it back then)...look at some of those goals conceded v Dybala. They're saveable shots.

15/16 was the huge missed opportunity.
