His father has followed Real for a while.
Haaland is a Real fan due to idolising Ronaldo. Only thing would possibly stop him going there would be battle for top dog with Mbappe but maybe he has enough confidence to think could win out on that one.

He has to win game time vs Benzema + Mbappe combo first season unless Benzema is sold.
Then fight for being the face of the team after that.

He might be fine with playing RW until Benzema's on crutches, but long term I'm under the impression that he wants to be the focal point in attack, not on the wing.
That takes us to the discussions with Madrid before signing the contract. They tell him that they see him as the leader of the attack. Then they go on and buy Haaland during the summer, what happens to Mbappe? Don't think he's the guy to willingly move to RW, his ego is too big for that, especially if he's been promised something else. May arrive if Barca can afford it on the books and he doesnt fancy teaming up with Mbappe but the credit for that goes to Laporta not some shady dark arts that Perez allowed to happen.

Slightly off topic but I find these rumours of us wanting a striker (Morata , Haaland etc..) a bit concerning since this means that we bought Ferran to play as a winger. My only hope I had for him of succeeding was him somehow maintaining that form he had in that striker role before his injury. Not sure how he will pan out as a winger.
