Erling Haaland

i think people might have to reconsider the way we view our superstar signings and not compare it to messi.

the raiola crap is inevitable and club also might want to not keep him forever.

remember that this club got rid quickly of the following players: R9, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Ibra etc.

haaland wasn't raised in la masia, is no family man and doesn't have anything in common with the city/country. messi had all that and he was the best ever, that's why we din't ditch him as quickly as the mentioned superstar forwards.

so i expect haaland to be here for 5 years max. if we do get him that is.

True. No need of sentiment, that r10 messi10 swap was ruthless but rewarded big time.

I am just wondering would you guys be Ok with his 50M salary + all the Raiola crap ?

Not at all!!!
IT messes up what we want to build atm.
We haven't even got rid of all the Amigos, and we will bring in new superstars, to create potential new toxicity?
We don't we create our own superstars, instead of buying them ready-made?
Salah was no superstar before Liverpool, De Bruyne was no superstar before City. That's the way to go

Let alone the financial inequality on the wage bill, and how that affects the rest
Look at Liverpool and City until recently, how well they handle their wage bill.
Wage bill is much more than money and numbers: its hierarchy and harmony in the locker room

That whole mega-signing of a superstar with astronomical wages is a Galactico-Madritista logic
and we should keep our healthy distance from it

we are not far off the galactico way of doing things. that's why we managed to get the biggest names here.

of course it is preferable to raise from la masia and unearth/polish gems like a salah or KDB.

but in order to get a haaland or mbappe(who are all the rage right now) we'll have to compete with the biggest spenders in the market.

if PSG offers him 40M a season, be sure that haaland will want at least the same from barca.

then again if we get 5 great years out of him and sell him for 100M i don't see it as big of a problem.

gullit might know something already. madrid still have 200M sitting in the bank from that failed mbappe attempt. so they could get both him an haaland in the end.

Never in doubt that Madrid could afford both him and Mbappe this summer.. probably even if the payed the 200m for Mbappe.

Haaland clearly a Real fan that idolised Ronaldo and would have Real as first choice if Mbappe not there and could be the main man. Maybe he still wants that dream and thinks he can surpass Mbappe as main man.. or not as important as is made out.

Cant see any chance of him at Barca. Think the club know that and will say he wanted to come but finances wouldnt allow it.

Haaland a Real fan too, not just Mbappe? Not that it usually means much but in cases like this when both sides want each other, it can.

I don't actually think Mbappe would be a problem for Haaland, but Benzema is not going to like Haaland's arrival much. Could rock the boat a little.

That wont prevent them signing Haaland.

If Haaland wanted to go and Benzema had an issue with it there is only one winner there. They would let Benzema throw his toys out pram and leave if it came to that.

Being a fan of a team has little to no influence when choosing teams. Especially these gigantic transfers that are career shaping. Haaland with all his advisors, especially his father and agent, will help him choose the best club for him and his future both on and off the pitch. On the pitch for now is City, off the pitch it's Barca with him becoming the front man, the new Dinho/Messi. Madrid probably the option if you combine the two.

If Barca present a good sporting project and a good amount of money it won't matter that Erling used to jerk off to posters of Cristiano on his walls.

Like most youngsters will have multiple teams would think.

Used to be City fan also due his dad playing there.

That's true, saying that I remember when his dad was on Talksport he said he supported Leeds, Man City and Nottingham Forest  Was around the time Liverpool played Salzburg.

Definitely does matter to players when making decisions if it is their dream etc.

Doesnt mean they will blindly follow that every time but it matters.

Won't make any difference when Haaland & his entourage are choosing. If he goes to Madrid it's because they believe it's the best team for him footballing and money wise. He won't go there if Barca offer better terms just because he watched them as a kid.
