I see a like from you @Messigician in the last post which totally answers you question but can you address the points made?
doesn't it seen that we always got about the same points mostly to our unreal attackers?
all ev had to do is manage the egos and concentrate on defense. he did well except for cl were defense ( his domain) failed badly.
I liked if because I appreciate the well thought out response and your reasoning not because I agreed with it.

I do not think the attack was that unreal as we lacked so much pace up front with neymar's sudden departure

Nah clasico was key and EV played peak football vs Atlético in his last game
We did played good football vs Atletico, but mostly of the individual qualities of Suarez, Griezmann and Messi. We were very inconsistent that season.

Suarez was injured in that the time, so EV would have probably faced the same issue as that of Setien during the clasico.

14-15: 94 points, champions. runner up 92 points.
15-16: 91 points, champions. runner up 90 points.
16-17: 90 points, runner up. champions 93 points.
17-18: 93 points, champions. runner up 79 points.
18-19: 87 points, champions. runner up 76 points.
19-20: 82 points, runner up. champions 87 points.

what you will notice is that our points are consistent no matter the manager since 2014
but in two Valverde seasons the opposition is none existent. our points drop after 17-18, consistently with the player quality dropping and age increasing. in 2019-2020, Real wins the league with 87 points, that if had managed the previous season would also had won.
Misleading data being misinterpreted

Part of the reason for those point totals not being higher is that EV wrapped up the title so early that Barca and other teams took their foot off in the final weeks of the season. In both of EV's full seasons, Barca lost a decent chunk of points in april and may when resting players and playing weakened teams. They even lost 3 points by going to South Africa for a friendly before a league match in 17-18. Madrid also lost a lot of points in the last few weeks that season because the league was dusted and they were prioritizing CL.

In all those seasons without EV, the title went right down to the wire with Barca and RM or AM playing their strongest teams through the end of the season.

Another smaller factor is that EV dominated the h2h vs both Madrid sides which took a couple of points off their tallies and demoralized them (Real especially).

There is not such thing as misleading data. this are the points achieved in those seasons.
Points are equivalent to previous seasons for us but not for our rivals. We managed the same number if wins as we always did. so, manager has little to do with it. autopilot is what it was, because the opposition was too easy for the class of our players. when the manager mattered, a.k.a. CL, it showed.

Aldo, h2h is meaningless when talking about 20 points drop for RM.

Thats relative, EV had you on top of the table comfortably for two seasons straight, so "only" leading the table by a little bit at the end was seen as a failure.

He was a victim of his own success.

Since 08-09 season, RM's 2 worst league results in terms of league points came during EV's 2 full tenure.

Of course, EV would lead comfortably when the opponent is doing bad in the league.

As other guy said, it helps when you build up lead early, win El Clasicos, so the league race is essentially over halfway through.
Who cares about total points at that stage?

If the league is won halfway, then was something very wrong with RM's league form for that season, which helped EV's case a lot in those 2 seasons. Clasico victory for RM wouldn't have changed much at all with the point difference that big.

It's not like Barca has been doing something extra ordinary since the points won between 14/15 - 18/19 being relatively consistent.
