He’s not Dutch.

Aren’t you British? If so how can you accuse someone else of being biased

Not Dutch and not Max fan. In fact read back not 10 pages further to see how critical I was of Max of late

We'll see where it goes. Some online suggesting the rules posted from 2020 are outdated
Merc are filing 2 protests so not entirely over just yet, but they'll have to have very solid ground to stand on to undermine it. ATM very much in the park of Merc cowardly shielding own bad decisions with the rulebook

I wonder what Hamilton himself thinks TBH. He seemed resigned to it. Wonder which he'd sway if asked, but I imagine he'd just refer to others' interpretation of rules

Lol nah not British.

I don't see how Mercedes made a wrong decision when their strategy led to a 12 second lead even after max changed to brand new hard tyres, that race was won/lost solely based on the decision by masi.

What a shame.

It's a mindboggling criticism of Mercedes when Max needed 3 stops and the FIA to break their own rules for him to win. Considering the fact that pretty much almost every driver on the grid has expressed their doubts over the last lap (including Alonso ffs), it's clearly not just "Hamilton fans coping lawl" like some users are trying to portray. Masi's decision making, rule breaking, and lack of communication also negatively affected other drivers, as drivers like Sainz, Norris etc weren't informed about overtaking until after the race. Sainz was held up by lapped traffic, he could've had a strong shot at P1 and P2 after the restart if the actual regulations were followed and not broken.

It's a mess perpetrated by the FIA, it was not on Mercedes whatsoever. I don't expect things to be overruled but I wouldn't be surprised if they were, what happened today was unprecedented.

I'm a Hamilton fan, probably obvious by my location but to be honest I'd rather just let the result stand at this point.

This today was just another example of inconsistency from Masi, which has negatively effected both Mercedes and Red Bull this season.

I feel both Toto Wolf and Christian Horner can easily sway him into making decisions on the radio. Toto was basically begging for no safety car about 10 laps earlier too. Probably because he knew the same situation was at risk of happening and you can guarentee Horner would be saying the same thing if the situation was reversed.

Bit of a shit-show all round really.

You're not listening are you

If you assume rules floating around are correct (over which there's doubt as different versions being posted) - yes - cars should have all overtaken
But if you apply them to fullest, all you're advocating for is a race under safety car to finish line.
Which is prime cowardice considering the only REASON you're advocating it is because it's the Merc that made the decision to keep Hamilton out there on a knackered tyre.
And that's coming on top of the FIA mistake in lap 1 from which Ham benefitted and was even in P1 in the first place
If they pitted him he'd EASILY have beaten Max whatever the conditions.
They even asked Ham which tyre he'd prefer in the event of safety car and he said "whichever" basically letting them choose. And they chose to not do anything.
Essentially gambled + whined on the radio from circa lap 35 when VSC was out and whenever it seemed like they made the wrong call.
Horner himself knew very well they needed a miracle because of raw gap Hamilton made so it's not like gamble was wrong there, but it turned out to be very wrong the moment it became apparent they wont make it to the end with that gap.

Whining about communication doesn't solve anything. It was shite. Move on from that and focus on how garbage Merc prep was to such a racing incident

If the race finish under a safety car but followed the established rules then so be it.

You don't just make up rules on the fly because you want them to "race" at the end.

Disagree because as said they broke the rules in lap 1
From then on it's just doing whatever feels right

Even if we believe they "broke" the rules on lap one, that didn't have a material impact on the race, because 90% change lewis would have overtaken max during the race, more like 100%.

And the rebut can't be that oh well that's why they should have pitted to change tyres because again there current setup had them 12 seconds ahead.

But at the end, masi basically said you know what, I feel like give a championship to max, today.

If anybody masi should be fired after this season he's been shit.

It did.
Max was first and for all we know ended up in 2nd without ability to control Lewis pace behind him.
Can't claim what would have happened if were asked to give place back or got given 5 second penalty.
And that's if you hide behind the rulebook to hide own bad gambles like Merc fans do incessantly.

But guess what, RB didn't really complain during the race did they? Snarky remark + "game face-on Max" because they know they have to put up with it.
So Mercedes need to also seems like
